Very good article, thanks Matt.  Yet more reason why people should be able to have access to treatment as soon after diagnosis as possible.

Thanks Matt, a positive step in the realization of something we patients and most doctors have known for awhile now. Hopefully we can get the appropriate individuals and organizations to accept it as fact. Once achieved, we can get these needed medications into the hands of everyone on demand and affordably. The VA has begun to lead the way by providing HCV treatment to all Veterans following diagnosis, regardless of fibrosis stage. That is a great advance in care.

Hey all 

Check out this hyperlink about a study new study by researchers at Baylor College of Medicine found that treatment and cure of chronic hepatitis C reduce the risk of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), especially if given early, before cirrhosis develops, and while patients are still young.
