Well, I waited 3 years, so two weeks was nothing :P

Tomorrow is marked in the calendar with a giant marker. Happy days! :D

I understand as I delayed starting the Harvoni Treatment until after getting back from Cuba. I did not want to be on it while I was traveling.

Hi Anita

Welcome to the forum and, as others have mentioned, this is a very informative and supportive forum.

And fingers crossed for Harvoni.  You've no doubt read of the great results.

And as Mr Drinkwater, sorry I mean Tig, recommends lots of fluid!

Pablo

Lisa - best of luck for the 21st!  Why was there such a delay in getting started?

 Hi Pablo,

I had the go ahead a couple of weeks ago, but I had guests coming, and as I had predicted, lack of sleep, erratic hours - sight seeing etc, and too much junk food out. So I planned to start tomorrow as I can get back to my routine without fussing over others, and I can start with comfort and ease. It was just a pratical thing than anything else. :D

Anita, Welcome to the forum. All I'm hearing out of you is good news, and that's music to my ears. You said your pre-treatment test shows little to no scarrin,  that's good news! I would guess your a Type1-b with a low viral count and 8 weeks will be easy for you too do. When you get the bad news your infected with HCV, then you need to look for the blessings in disguise . Your blessings would be that you have little to no scarring,type1-b,and in this day and age the treatment drugs work and have very high cure rates. Ask any questions you have, some one will come along with answers.    RC

Hi Anita,

Welcome to the forum, glad you're here!

Harvoni is a very effective DAA and relatively side effect free (especially as compared to older treatment regimens.

It's great that you are already on the road to being HCV-Free and feeling better!

Be Well,

Dave

Hi Anita,

Welcome to the group, we're glad to have you here. Harvoni is a great treatment against this disease and you'll be Hep free before you know it. Be conscious of your fluid intake, it's very important while you're on treatment. You should be drinking 3-4 liters of water per day, every day without fail. Add some electrolytes to that, there are a number of healthy ways to stay adequately hydrated. We can offer you several ideas as you go forward. You're already well on your way, so you should have a good idea of how you're going to feel for the next several weeks. Harvoni offers few side effects, but fatigue and headaches are the most common and typically happen when you haven't hydrated enough. You'll hear that from us a lot, so expect it!

If you would like to add some particulars related to your own history in your signature line, you can find those instructions HERE. You probably notice most of us have done that and it helps when replying to your posts. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. Be sure to utilize our Search function at the top center of each page. A keyword or two will provide discussions and information here on the forum related to them.

We all wish you the very best and look forward to following your progress!

Hi Anita and welcome aboard! Glad you have begun your journey and already feel better, that is terrific. I too had little scarring and developed some stomach issues. I take ginger tablet and drink ginger tea which I get relief from. They did lots of tests and endoscopy and there is nothing wrong so, I just do my ginger and try to avoid food that causes upset.

Hi alani2,

Welcome to the forum.

I am glad to hear you have already started your 8 weeks of Harvoni, and that you feel some better already!!

How long have you been on the Harvoni now - what was your start date, and, did you have a "fibroscan F score done"?

You mentioned you did not have a lot of sides - that's nice! I bet your journey will be a cake walk just like singsongs. smile C.

Hey Singsong!!

You have finished your cake walk!! Celebrate - treat yourself to some of that cake!

So nice (and fast) your EOT seemed to arrive. Congrats. Nice for you. Keep us posted. biggrin C.

(oh harumph!! tried to post a pic of your cake here, but photo won't stick) Oh well, it's still a sweet day for you.

I do have stomach problems from the Hep C.  I use to do yoga but it became too painful to sit on the floor and cross my legs. I am looking forward to that pain going away along with the Hep C.

Hi Alani2,

Welcome aboard the treatment train. I am starting Sof/Dac on the 21st and looking forward to saying goodbye to Hep as well.

A lot of us do have fatigue and tummy problems with Hep C and its a common problem, it doesn't seem to matter what stage of fibroses people have either. I have heard people feel fantastic after completing treatment, we will both find out soon enough.

Its good for people to post how they are feeling on treatments as there are plenty of people nervous to take viral medications, especially as the older treatments were nothing short of harsh on the body. I think there is too much outdated information of the net, and trials tend to post information that can be misconstrued. So every person that gives an honest account from a human level encourages more people to take that step.

Anyway, welcome aboard the treatment train. I look forward to reading your SVR very soon! :D

Hi Anita, Welcome Aboard.  Plenty of nice folks on this Board.  It's good for people who haven't started treatment yet to read that Harvoni is pretty easy going for most.  How long will you be on it?  I just finished my 8 week treatment yesterday and it was a cake walk.

Greetings

I was diagnosed with Hep C in 2008 and believe it came from a transfusion I had in 1996. My viral load has remained low and other then scarring there were not many signs. However there are things going on with my health that I did not attribute to Hep C like being tired and having digestion problems. I am now taking Harvoni and feeling better already. I do not have a lot of side effects so far and hoping it will work.

Looking forward to sharing with everyone!no
