Different Fibroscan Score Charts
Permalink

This is a scale that does NOT show a "F2/F3" category - it's just either F2, or F3, or F4, etc., with slightly differing cut-off numbers from other scales - i.e. F 3 ends at 12.5 kPa and F4 starts at 12.6 kPa. There are a large number of differing reports, studies, images of scales out there (older and newer) used to depict fibrosis measurements and expressing slightly different F score cut-off points - most settle, generally, that when the kPa is about 14 and more, cirrhosis is more likely. This scale depicts F4 starting at 12.6 kPa (over 12.5) with the "probability" of cirrhosis increasing to be as high as about 90%. Other scales differ in depicting at what kPa F4 starts or at what kPa cirrhosis is more probable and to what degree that probability is. (LMS stands for liver stiffness measurement). There are many other additional tests, results and extenuating circumstances that have to be considered along with a liver stiffness/fibrosis score - a fibroscan score cannot necessarily stand alone in isolation.

!??  (Hmm, can't get the picture of the example scale I speak of to copy/paste/post here!! Oh, well. See other links/scales below).

http://www.racgp.org.au/afp/2013/july/fibroscan/ - F4 and cirrhosis probability cut off designated at higher than 12.5

http://www.uhn.ca/PatientsFamilies/Health_Information/Health_Topics/Documents/FibroScan_Liver_Disease.pdf - F4 and cirrhosis probability cut off designated at higher than 14.5
