Have not taken a blessed thing today, I assure you!  The hives are back, on a much smaller scale, I guess they don't go away all at once.

Sorry to hear about all of that, how awful! Glad that you're on the mend.. Right?

We can't advise you on your medication needs. Considering the Cipro, you may need to be checked for any residual effects from it. You know, the FLU is a viral illness. Cipro is antibacterial, so I would check with your doc before taking any more of it. I question any effectiveness in that scenario. I'm glad you're improving, that's what matters!

Long term use of acetaminophen products aren't liver friendly either. Mucinex is an expectorant and the reaction you had the day after taking it seems suspicious. They are listed as common Mucinex reactions. Might want to give it a pass until you talk to your doc.

Feeling that poorly is nothing short of awful and I hope you get this over with and get your Dragon slaying schedule back on track.

Went on a a little vacation last week before I was scheduled to be biopsied for a mass in my right lobe.  Came home with the FLU.  Had to reschedule the biopsy because I wasn't comfortable with the idea of someone rooting around in my liver with a needle while I cough!

So, thought I would try to fix the problem.   Had some CIPRO left over from hubby.   Took 1500 ml the first day, day two and day three.

On day three,  I added Mucinex because I was just SO congested.  But I was definitely feeling better.

Woke up day 4 covered with hives and difficulty breathing.   Grabbed the kids Benadryl and took a good whopping dose, which seemed to work in about 20 minutes.

Now, like a fool, I Googled Cipro/Liver disease AFTER I had been taking the drug for three days.......I'm not going to talk about it anymore.

But the question still remains, can I take Mucinex until the day before the biopsy?  It's largely acetaminophen, does that act as a bit of a blood thinner, because if it does, I am just going to stick a faucet on my face and lie down on the table on biopsy day.
