I haven‘t seen any practice provide a diploma before, very cool!

Aaaaw, that so neat!!!!! Now everybody's gunna want one of those! Now that makes for a good hair day! I am jealous not only of you hair, and guts, but I have only a scissor "cut out" of my und from a lab report, framed and mounted on my wall. When I was first being tested and found out I did have HCV, they also tested me for everything else, somehow, no one could find or tell me if I was HIV pos - the results were in limbo somewhere (and so was I) for months!!!! I was so frustrated by this, not knowing of the wayward HIV results (even though I would have been very suprized if I had been HIV pos) that by the time I finally got it, i was good and mad and relieved and told them I was going to frame it and put it on my wall. Never did - but had they given me any of my results so nicely as they had to you - for sure, it would be up on m wall!. I think they should give out badges too or icecream or something.

You make an ideal graduate of SVR, proven by this diploma. biggrin C.

Hey BB!

So glad to see a post from you!

Working (as usual)! Man!, lady you were some (are some warrior) - I can't believe with all that the riba put you through you still didn't miss a day of work. I am so impressed with how well you made yourself cope with EVERYTHING! You definitely have more bootstraps than me. And then to top it all off, having that baby! Well, not the labour part, but you know what I mean. My, isn't life just sumptin!

Wonderful about starting bootcamp again (wish we had something "a little more strenuous" in my wee town), I'm still just flailing about in lassitude yoga classes.

Nice your hair is feeling thick again, you had such a beautiful head of it in that pic, hard to believe you thought it thin then! You should see the skrawny twine I sport, and I have no riba to blame either! That was the most gorgeous pic of you, and beautiful baby, you shared.

Do keep us posted on how you are, how the strength gaining goes, and how both your "babies" are doing. So nice to hear from you, you sound great! On a scale of 0 to 100% how much riba has still not left the building?

So, you must have had your EOT+12week SVR blood about Dec? You are a bushel of good news. biggrin C.

Hello Miss B,

You sound so upbeat! That’s fantastic! It’s so nice to have our Warriors checking back in with such good reports. It must be so nice to have beaten back those nasty migraines. I’m amazed how many things improve following successful treatment. Just look at you now!

WOOT!

Hi B.B.,

So how are you? We need an update on your state of mind and Dragon slaying. I hope you’re keeping yourself rested and hydrated. That’s so important right now. I had no appetite at all and lost a lot of weight. You will be happy to know that I found most of it! You should work to keep your diet healthy. It’s the fuel you need for fighting. Things will improve on many levels. You’ll see! smile

Hi BB.   I started RIBA about 12 days ago and the S/X all showed up this weekend. I have done riba two times before, 16 weeks with sof and 12 weeks with sof-Peg-riba. The first treatment I dident know what to expect, I dident handle the riba rage too well and I was up all nights because the riba ramped me up. Went to sleeping pills for sleep and that in itself was a disaster , but necessary. On treatment #2 I knew what to expect from the RIBA but adding peg to the mix doesnt help the rage!!  I was a little better controlling rage on #2 but still popped my top often.  I have A much better handle  on the riba this time.  I get angry and start shaking and racing in my head , but I know that if i just keep my mouth shut it will pass in just a few minutes. The riba amplifies feeling 10X over.  Good feelings and bad feelings, it doesnt discriminat!!  Sounds like you get it and are handling the riba well.  Remember that its just temporary and will go away a couple months after your last dose.

Hang in there BB.    RC

BB,

Earlier I said Linux had that emergency treatment (to help with being riba-tized) ... I  searched and searched, but I can't find it - there was a picture of it in his thread (somewhere)!

So, I had to find a sub for you, I emptied the cupboard under my sink and found this ... a remedy I often use (for other things), it's kinda close but not the cigar Linux used.

Look under your sink for the spray can that says "Riba-Be-Gone", looks a little like this can.

The overpowering stench of riba can clear a room in a hurry alright, but be brave, go back in there, throw open all the doors and windows, and wait, it won't be long, and before you know it, you will be drinking in only long lovely wafts of fresh air - eventually, riba will be-gone  for good.

Hey BB,

All I have to say about Riba is in this photo. I hated that stuff at the time and not terribly fond of it now. I wouldn’t hesitate using it again, if I had to. I’m glad they’re starting to determine ways around it, but for now, we’re fortunate it’s there. It’s all about killing the Beast... Whatever it takes! It’s so good to hear from you!

Ya, I wished you had not (necessarily) had to work (all along) through all parts of your treatment (and riba-time), but then again, perhaps some of the arduous activities were were taking on, throughout treatment, were helping you "some", psychologically, to distract and tough your way through and past riba-land, sorta helping to keep you sane, but still, even now, some time-off might not kill a person??

Riba-land is a weird place (I have come to believe), just when you think the ride may be over, perhaps it is not! I never did riba, but i found my "time" on treatment not a pleasant time, I can't really say why for sure - would be easier to understand if my regime had inculded riba! You have BEAUTIFUL hair, as I noted IMMEDIATELY on that wonderful pic of you and the new BB! No wonder you lament the hair thing, owning a head like that, I would NEVER notice what you have mentioned has been going on by the look of the lovely headfull you sport in that photo -  but I DO believe you, about the hair loss  (even tho I can't see it) - as I have had the same complaint, my hair has gone to shat too, but one can see it! I too wish my hair would behave! Wanna trade? Riba is a valid cause for hair trouble, stress too, sometimes just general chronic health troubles too, hard to say why hair loss occurs. Good you see some regrowth tho!

I have been buying "hope" in a bottle, hair remedies, topical this and thats, sups that all claim/promise hair health - kinda expensive too! - darn it - nope, dunt see nothin dif yet!

Do you and daughter and babykins all bunk in together? I think you said that once, that you were all within the same household - so, hows' the babysitting going??

Hope this newer period of work stress eases off pretty soon. I would prefer to see you sleeping like this ...

Omgosh I wanna snuzzle that cute fluffy kitty in the pic .....

I am just loving having baby Astrid at home to kiss on when I get home from work everyday....Yes all the kids live in the downstairs and I upstairs so we have our own privacy but still get to have baby in arms reach 24/7. She is getting to be more fun as she smiles and is awake more now going on 2 months old. Certainly can help calm the riba ritual fits.......Water is certainly key and food too If I don't eat good I get that sickly feeling and fast.

Heya Canuck,

Well I thought I was out of the woods there for a bit but then I had that ole familiar riba fitastrophy one weekend that made me go lock myself in my bedroom for sure! It was like horrible! I had been running around at work more than ever after another co worker quit and I guess it caught up with me. Boy you don't dare slack off on drinking your fluids or your in big trouble. Sleep.......well you know how you get so tired and then you lay down and your eyes and mind go BINK! haha Some nights are good and some are not. You know that crazy cycle.....You just never know whats going to happen. The hair is still coming out....Id like that to stop asap lol but at least it coming back in. So I will hang in there and keep on keepin on....

HeyBB,

Glad to hear a report from you. Since your EOT (what ... mid Sept?) you must be recouping "some" from the riba part of it? Do you think you have noticed less things that we were associating with the riba?? I hope so (mind you, it has not been very long since EOT, and riba does linger they say). Hope it is wearing off fast for you. With all your work and a new babe in the house, you need your rest and energy - hope the sleep dept is better?

I guess you will be back for your EOT+12 weeks VL and labs about first week of Dec?

Try not to overwork (if you can help it) and I certainly hope you are not coming down with any flu!, especially not wanted. I got my flu shot recently.

Keep treating yourself with TLC, nobody can do this better for you than you. Until you feel recovered, keep up with the ebbing riba precautions. Glad to hear you say you feel pretty good for the most part.

What a stellar job you have done to get through all you have been through to get to cure-dom! biggrin C.

Congratulations on your UND, bb.

I have to jump in and tell you if your legs are bothering you at night, cramps or restlessness, squidginess... I highly recommend trying magnesium glycinate. I used to have such bad leg cramps, I often had to stand up for half the night. It was brutal.

Magnesium glycinate daily (well nightly) has completely eliminated my body restlessness and leg cramps and actually helps with insomnia and nerve pain as well.

Enjoy being a successful dragon slayer. Yay

Alison

What parts (exactly) is the poosnizzle for??

Need more reports, only when you have more time BB, on how you (and both your other BB's are doing).

Hope you are still doing the in-recovery goddess of riba self-care method of living, water/food/rest.

Did you ever decide what to take for leg/body/muscle uncomfortable-ness/night restlessness? smile C.

Hey B.B.,

Just know it will get easier with each week and month post treatment. The Riba rage took its sweet time to resolve, several months for me, but it softened and wasn’t profound like it was on treatment. The thing that took a full year was the sun sensitivity. I normally tan pretty easy, but that year was the exception. I burned like forgotten burger on the grill every time I chanced it. Slather on the sunscreen!

It’s worth the challenges you’re going through. I promise you that!

SVR is golden wink

Hey BB,

Sorry I'm late providing the well earned congratulations on your UND! WOOHOO!! So happy to hear that. Not surprised about the low blood counts though, that's a given with Riba. Once all this is over you'll notice fairly quick improvements, but it takes every bit of 6 months to totally clear the Riba from your system and no cleanse is going to remove it quicker. That stuff gets into every tissue you own and takes it's own sweet time to disappear. I had issues for an entire year afterwards.

I would avoid the high dose Tylenol, too. They seem to be stuck on that stuff, but all of it affects the liver adversely in my opinion. So it's best to use as little as possible to achieve the desired results. Too bad Tequila is prohibited... At least we wouldn't care! wink

Congrats BB,

I just LOVE your great big ole   UND!! And your teensie-weensie ALT of "6" - man, that ALT is soooo teeny I can hardly make it out! Beauty AST at 16 too. (What were some of your old/older ALT's/AST's?)

Man, you are almost the picture of perfect! - whal, cept' for shucking the last hee-bee jee-bee vestiges of that well-meaning but troublesome blue-meanie hitchhiker you were obligated to give a ride to a while back. Once rid of him, you will be riding mighty fine once again (better than ever actually).

Hm, not suprized some of your other bloods remain somewhat out of wack, similar to your last posted bloods? Prior Hgb 11.7, and many of those (H's and L's) should start to improve soon, as you recover.

Your best friends are still drinking LOTS of water to keep cleansing yourself, good gentle nutricious diet, rest and self-TLC.

Just about everything you put into your body is a burden on your liver, but we DO need the help of drugs sometimes - go by what your doc says. Terrible to go along without relief of something, for fear of doing something wrong - you are still left with a problem - just which is the lesser of the evils! I'm ALL for pain/symptom relief - just ask your doc what things you can or cannot take (if anything is forbidden or is prefered, when there is a choice).

Some of us, for various good reasons, such as having thin blood/bleeding/clotting/stomache issues might be told to avoid aspirin-based OTC things, others may be told to avoid doing too much tylenol-based OTC things on a damaged liver - just depends on your particular conditions and your docs preferences - it IS a judgement call your doc has to make for you based on your particular conditons - just ask them. Everything is a burden on your liver, including good food (if you want to look at it that way)!

Just remember, whatever you and your doc choose, what the malady IS, that it is intended for. Tylenol-based products (acetaminophen) is good for pain and fever, but Asprin-based products (acetylsalicylic acid) is good for pain, fever AND is an anti-inflammatory, which may be important for best relief - it all depends on the cause of your pain/grief, what you need, prior conditions, and the least amount of impact as far as "sides". He may give you the go-ahead for either/or, within reason, depending on what your needs are. (Asprin, Ibuprofen, Motrin, Nuprin, Aleve/naprosyn are similar in the family).

How are both your babies doing? Your daughter must be so happy for you, that you are finished, cured and (for herself too) in that you are both looking forward to all these "new lives" and all it brings.

I am very happy for you. biggrin C.

Hi L-52.  I was told by my Dr's that it was ok to take up to2000mg a day. That was even with my old liver!   However I never felt comfortable using that amount, as a mater of fact I took very little and not very often.  I was told to stay away from Ibuprofen, its a no no.No ADVIL.

I take aspirin when needed (not tylenol) and always the lowest amount possible.

Hey Wendy-I am so confused about Tylenol and Advil.  I was told by my doctor that I could take up to 2,000 mg of Tylenol a day, although I have never taken more than 500.  But I know Tylenol is bad for the liver, so what's the right course of action?

Hi BB,

I take aspirin when needed (not tylenol) and always the lowest amount possible. My prescribing docs all know my history and I always remind them. When searching for Rx for menopause, I came flat out and asked my liver doc if now cured of HCV could I take black cohash and was told to avoid it due to how hard on the liver it is. Yes the liver filters everything so we do need to keep that in mind. I still take my vitamins and herbal supplements. Just got a call today from new pcp and was told all blood-work was normal so that made me feel good.

labs from 9/19/17

AST 16

ALT 6

yay!

Low WBC, RBC, Hemoglobin, and a few other things not in normal range but my viral load is still UNDETECTED!!! "Howl Aey Lue Ya"!!

SO! How long after treatment do we still need to worry about any drug interactions? The say you can't even take some hormones or birth control and I know that anything and everything pretty much will put more strain on your liver especially a freshly cured one I'm thinking lol. I worry about even an Ibuprofen and or Tylenol and I am sketchy on doing even a body cleanse type herbal supplement. Is there a chart or website I can check for these type of things? My nurse text me a drug interaction website that was not active :/ I actually trust this forum more hahah

And I just realized I had to take some Imodium this morning before work....SEE I forgot like oops was that ok??? omgosh!

Released from riba jail, but "on condition", it will be a pain (for a while) to have to keep reporting to that awful riba probation officer.

It's the shats being on riba probation. Keep resting, moving about (some very gentle exercise/walking/stretching/a wee bit of massage maybe), TLC, try to build your good diet back up, and keep flushing the toxins out of you with the fluids. I do hope the gut is calmed down now and will let you increase diet slow and steady again. A real reprieve from all of this would be good eh?, called for, you need and deserve good break! Feeling better will come tho.

Can you ask if you could take something at night to relax/relieve your aches and restless legs? Even just an OTC headche pill or something. C.

Ya bb,

I like Wendy's "BRAT" diet, actually ... I never knew it was called that! even tho I tell people (bascially) the same thing, for a very upset gut (like you have with that bout of diarrhea). It is a very good thing to revert back to, back to the basics (when you are trying to stop diarrhea, recover from it, and still remain somewhat nourished and hydrated) - just very gentle, soft, non-irritating, easy to digest things, with little fat, (just some bulk, sugars, calories) and the pectin/soluable and insoluable fiber/and vit C in the applesauce are supposed to be a good things. The banana is ideal as well, for all the good things bananas offer. The reduced proteins derived from the rice and toast will carry you in a pinch for a while. My old Granny would try to get us kids to eat burnt toast! No butter, black and carbonized, I couldn't handle it, Granny's version of charcoal or ipicac I guess - yuk!

The BRAT diet is a good standby, thank goodness we generally recover from a bad bout of diarrhea quite quickly, you soon get tired of the simplicity of rice and apple sauce!

I hope you trying to get more wee naps in, and curtailing your activities (if you can) and as you threatened you were going to try to do - like I said ... don't you make us come down there and force-feed you burnt toast! C.

Oh my bb, the vibrator analogy - heehee snort and the divorce bit - wheeeeeee. But I am sorry you are feeling poorly, still, you have not lost your sense of humour tho! Poor RC, he is on so many powerful drugs, a cornucopia of the best remedies, I don't think he will even be able to discern what particular "nuanaces" Vosevi offers for "feelings". He currently packs a suitcase of pills, all of which he must be feeling MUCH from.

Much like the "added" riba "tingle" you two describe (he from his double experience with riba, and you from yours), these feelings, akin to an unsedated electrocution! ... I found my Vosevi (sof/vel/vox) a NS5B, 5A and a 3/4A, peculiar as well, in that i experienced "frenetic" quality feelings at the same time as profound stuck-in-the-tar-sands fatigue, mix the two up in your body and especially the brain and it feels very wierd! I have nothing and no one to compare notes with on this!, but I have unsubtaintiatedly suspected it was the 3/4A (vox) that offerred me this special quality of addedd frenetics.

Just thought i would share.

Has the diarrhea let up? How is daughter doing post-surg? (and wee one). They seem to kick not even recovered people out the hopstal door with lightening speed these days! Just look at how quick they booted RC out - I couldn't believe it! Major sug, and as soon as you can teeter on two legs again they kick Mom (opened from stem to stern) out the door to go home and work!

Keep us posted on how your doing today. Don't you make us come down there and enforce the resting/drinking rules. C.

BB, The wash out time for RIBA is at least 6 to 8 months. Right after you stop taking it things get much better, you will get your strength back fairly soon, Days to a week or two. If you had sleep issues that will take some time,a few weeks or so. The fatigue will take just a short time to go away,Its from being inactive, the more you move around the easeyer it gets. Hang in there it gets better. The 6 to 8 months recovery is just the time RIBA hangs out in your cells. It gets in deep and leaches out slow.If you experienced a inward body shaking, like a zillion little motors in your blood stream all buzzing, that will take some time to wash out. Its that little nagey feeling that you cant put your finger on but its there all the time and it wears on you, constantly making you uncomfortable, moody and irritable- Ya thats the riba im talking about,It gets better so hang in there knowing it wont last forever. I did two different treatments with 1200mg a day-the stuff is a BAD.       RC

Sorry bb.

You are STILL under the bad influence of riba, and will be for some time (I hate to remind you of this, but it does seem to be a fact, that the riba CAN take a while to dissipate from you.) Other riba do-ers here have attested to this, that at EOT, "maybe" within days, there is a "relief" (of sorts) mostly in knowing you never have to take another one of those strength-robbing, breath-taking, harm you to cure you, tough-love blue pills, but, you STILL have to treat yourself exactly like you are still on treatment and ON riba! For while anyway.

I am so glad you are finished, BUT, it is a perfect storm of wonderful life circumstances which I think IS contributing to how you are faring right now.

Your "baby" having a baby, and by C/S is guaranteed to be high-stress-caramba time, draining, exhausting and something which would understandably motivate you to push yourself to the max to be "up" for and deal with.

Trouble is you have just been through a LOT!, AND, you are still (technically) "on" riba. You are not in very good shape to run these physical, emotional marathons (yet).

Hospitals and their organisms can be "not good" places to subject yourself to when in a weakened state anyway! But I completely understand why you are there and pushing yourself to be there, for everyone, including youslef.

That is why I said prior to try to "pace" yourself (as best you could).

There will still be many things and tasks and "work' you will not be ideally well-equiped to do, for some time yet, and you still need to protect and nurture yourself during this riba-recovery period.

Stress, and lack of sleep AND add diarrhea are not good things to add to riba recovery.

You KNOW (already) you have overtaxed yourself - listen to your body - you will be no good to your daugter or anyone, if you overextend and get to operating at 0 out of 10, as opposed to the 3 or 4 out 10 you might have managed to reach while being freshly released from riba-jail.

Back to basics, water, quiet, rest, gatorade or pediolyte (something to combat loosing the eletrolytes with the diarrhea), chicken soup, gentle diet, out of the sun and heat, less stenuous activity (sorry) and treat yourself like you are still on riba! If the diarrhea does not stop right shortly, then you HAVE to seek medical advice. You are supposed to be doing slow recovery 101, not pushing to do marathons.

Water/electrolytes and maybe a plain tylenol for your body pain (if your doc told you prior that a tylenol or some other OTC pain-kiler would be OK for you). Try to get some sleep! Did you ever pick up any sleep aid or something the doc said you could take? Sleep is important (as you well know, from your lack of it). Try to rest, I know this is not an oppotune time to be under the weather - but riba is a **** - she is unforgiving, she takes her own sweet time, and can be spiteful if you dare to ignore her.

Keep letting us know how you are - fingers crossed the diarrhea at least lets up. C.

awww, you and babe look SOOOOOOOOO beautiful to me to me!!!!!! But I can't say Mommy there is going to be too comfy for a while yet. You will start feeliing better soon (from all your efforts) and so will Mommy.

Take your time, deep breaths, everybody try to pace yourselves, we can all do only what we can all do.

Must have been a stress-fraught time to know she had to have a C/S to deal with backward babykins.

What a busy and wonderful time, you, and daughter and baby, ALL graduating at the same whirlwind time.

Hey, her doc has big frown lines! (and a nice smile) a good sign.

By the way I did NOT even notice ANY frown lines on you (heehhee) I only see a very strong, brave, lovely, strong, cured lady starting to feel better already (now that she is pill-less)!

Happy birthday everyone! (Thnak you so much for sharing these pics!) You AND babykins look so lovely. Celebrate with some little extra naps and big glasses of water.  Happy for ya. C.

Hey Canuck! Loved the video, thanks! I am on the other side now, thank you Jesus!! I just had my last lab work done today and should get results by Monday and will share when I receive them. Nurse said I will do another lab in Dec just to make sure I am cured. I have been so busy the last few days as on my last day of V-Pak and Riba my Granddaughter was born just the night before and will share a pic....(you know I have to share a pic of that moment) Last Friday the Dr. scheduled my daughter a C section for Monday 9/11 because the baby was breach and had been for quite some time so this is what happened Monday night at 7:57 pm. floating.gif Of Course I have been up for a couple of days with cat naps here and there and so I am paying for it now but pushing thru and helping my daughter recover and breast feeding for new mommy's at first is always a challenge but is doing quite well and a healthy Baby from head to toe! "Hall lay lu yah!!"

Ima wreck in this pic but who cares....I have a baby! lol w00t.gif heart.gif

From our meetings over in the chat box the other day, boy oh boy, only 4 more sleeps!!!? So close you can almost taste it?

How has the last week or so been feeling/going? I know how hard this ride has been on you, but despite the bad you have had to cycle through, believe us your dragon has suffered the ultimate deadly insult. YOU have the last word on the mattter - you should be feeling pretty damn proud of yourself to get to the end, in such a brave and dignified manner and you never lost your sense of humour. I am impressed how well you have done girl. You strong. Standing on your own two feet - sista, doing it for yourself!!!!!!!! A few more sleeps and mr riba will start to become nothing but a bad memory, just like that health/soul-sucking virus you just killed off. Stay strong to the end woman!

So, if Tues is your last day (EOT) do you get a blood draw that day? Hope so.  : )  C.

You need to find a coffee shop that makes real Cuban coffee. That stuff comes in little bitty dixie cups and is caffeinated rocket fuel! If that stuff doesn't open your eyes, you need to go back to bed, lol!

The Riba is responsible for your fatigue, more than anything else. Hang on, Sister, you're getting closer with each day. Maintain your sense of humor, I love it and it makes life so much better.

I would be slipping in my duty if I failed to remind you to HYDRATE!!!! Look how good it is for you wink
