since i started the azilastine antihistamine at nite and a fourth of sudafed decongestant when i wake up i feel more normal.

but i do log a lot of hours sleeping and watching tv  along with working 3 nights a week and doing chores ,errands, some exercise and easy projects.

i def am not over doing it , but mainly i want to be rested and well to make it thru work; otherwise i'd probably be over doing it.

I appreciate those thoughts Tig and Observer. I tend to forget about all the collateral damage. I just want to be able to do what I need to without feeling like I need to sit down...sometimes for the rest of the day. And that may be working against me? I feel like I was just parked on the couch for three months last year and trying to get any amout of stamina back has been a real struggle. It's so much easier (and less exhausting and painful) to sit than to move around.

Any Ideas for breaking the pattern, cycle, habit??? I have been doing physical therapy for my back and last week something happened that makes my right hip weak, sore and the skin on the front side waaaaaaaay painful.

BB, Iris

Dont forget that many of us didnt carry that mutating destructive virus for decades without developing some degree of liver damage.

As well as filtering everything we eat drink touch and breathe the liver regulates our lymphatic and hormonal and nervous systems...so just getting rid of the HCV isnt going to necessarily fix all the years of destruction it has wreaked on our fragile systems.

I still have cirrhosis but if I compare things like fatigue levels before and after treatment, theres a huge improvement for me.

Hi Iris,

I know that which you speak of and think a lot of it has to do with us packing around this virus for decades. As you mentioned, I was way more fatigued and just worn out during those years of active virus. Once conquered, I did notice significant improvement, yet still tired easily and still experience episodes of it, but nothing like I did. I’m no Spring Chicken, so I know at my soon to be 63, that it doesn’t take much to remind me of that. There will be good days and some not so stellar, but knowing I can look forward to more good than what seemed to be a downward spiral of mood, health and stamina, makes my outlook for the future brighter! HCV affected so much of our lives negatively, for so long, we have to realize the coming improvements may take a considerable amount of time to happen. Some of our hopes and expectations may take longer. Knowing you’re seeing some improvements this soon after SVR, tells me you are on the mend. Hold onto that! I’m confident that you’ll achieve better health and strength, hopefully in the near future!

Hi folks,

When ill with the virus I felt like I was always getting almost sick and all the time tired. Since treatment I haven't experienced that as much but when it does hit me I feel as though I have the virus again, my throat gets sore, I'm achy, low grade fever, headache, stomach ache and general blaaaas. but you never really get all the way sick. It makes me wonder what causes that. This would usually happen after over exertion.  But since clearing the virus it seems as though I am more tired than ever. Maybe I'm just old now, LoL.

I was wondering how many of us are still dealing with this and how do you combat it?

Thanks, Iris
