hey there Obs, sending you love and light, that sounds like a worry-some situation, just insist the keep monitoring.

I have no gall! LoL!! anymore, hey... they can disintegrate stones with ultra sound (I think that's how) these days. I wouldn't wait until one clogs a duct. Too bad about the cider vinegar, it's has so much other healing properties.

best to you, Iris

obs. can you eat apples? or is it just how acv is fermented? i hardly use it anymore since i don't know if it's helping anything at all anyway.

i'm not sure  about other lettuce, some flare the rosacea in me cry , so i'm gonna enjoy the bland old iceberg for awhile before i test others.

i can eat a little bit of cake tho once a week or so

Thanks 5,

apple cider vinegar is a big no no for me.. I used to love it in a slaw or bbq sauce but I get lymphatic and arthritic swelling and other toxic reactions when I ate it ...so I dont... but luckily there are other vinegars I can eat...malt has a good tang in recipes

poor you not being able to eat romaine...what about other leafy lettuces ? Iceberg is ok but so bland... I eat Ceasear  salad at least once a week...

I will stay alert for those symptoms (although the pooping one is usually a sign I ate something with hidden soy) but the pain and/or  vomiting will be noticeable wink and I wont hesitate to get it out lickedy split if it flares

obs, i tried apple cider vinegar

the pain of having the darn gb in me was wayyyyyy more than the recovery. i felt better within a few days with the gb out.....but the stomach muscle recover was harsh for 3 weeks, at 5 weeks i could feel it was actually a success in all ways.

you will have symptoms feeling like a football in your gut, and pain in the gb spot, plus some awful bouts of the p00ps.. i didnt have the runs but sure had  long sessions of having to poop hour after hour with a sick stomach :(  , the type that keeps you up all nite

plus you can also have vomiting . certain foods like veggies and lettuce will cause pain, some fruits and fats too.

it's funny that now i can eat ice burg lettuce but not romain.... but i'm happy to have any lettuce now

i hope you don't have trouble with your gall stones

It was definitely a different  interpretator than the last one who did describe some nodules and the particu areas of the lever....

as I said, Im not too worried, just a tad disappointed...I am relieved that the veins and  flows are working fine.

both my parents had gall bladder attacks and removals so I know to be alert...(my dad says it was the worst pain hes ever had)  and poor 5 ...she sure went through the ringer... and you too? Darn gall bladders...they have a lot of gall, flaring up on so many people.

All I know is my family Dr said I have gall stones...asked if I wanted to see a specialist...I dont see the point if they arent bothering me..

I was hoping I could dissolve them with lemon juice or something but am very wary of crazy fad stuff so Ill just carry on with my normal diet...I already dont eat much fried food which I read can irritate it

Obs,

It doesn't mention any sign of nodularity and I know from my background in U/S, you can often see the lumpiness (nodules) in a cirrhotic liver. It's very difficult to diagnose cirrhosis from a general abdominal ultrasound. I say that, because in your case all the existing parameters and visualization are within normal limits. The blood flow is good and the vessel size is unchanged and normal. If the spleen and pancreas are normal and not enlarged, LFT's are good, I'd keep doing what you're doing. Except of course the gallbladder. My guess is it is larger than it was previously and that without more information could be a matter of millimeters. If it's a different sonographer, that too, is a question of technique. Where there any stones visible? If not, and you aren't experiencing any pain or problems, just pay attention to what your body tells you. A unhappy gallbladder is unmistakable. Ask 5 about that one. I know mine had to come out because I was sick with pain and abdominal distress. Lots and lots of people have enlarged gallbladders and experience no discomfort at all.

Tig,

the reading says

The liver is cirrhotic. No focal hepatic lesions are identified. Normal hepatic and portal venous flow direction is seen. The bile ducts are within normal limits. The pancreas spleen and kid are unremarkable. There is no free fluid.

The only  change I see from last one (9 months ago) is the last one said gall bladder normal and this one says Cholecystitis is noted....  I have no symptoms or pain or issues in gall bladder but will be alert to changes.

smile

it really is a good idea to get the blood work included with the HCV fibroSURE. it has to be hcv fibroSURE or they'll go nuts...., just convince her it's another way to monitor other good changes going on in your liver.

Thanks my friends.... I wasnt overly surprised but was hoping ....

Tig, it was just a regular post tumour ultrasound ...Im supposed to get cat scans but I react to the dye so I am opting for ultrasounds as they are less of a problem for me...I have the copy in my studio and I always visit here on my iPad in bed so I dont have it handy but I remember it said the veins are all good biggrin

Cheddy, you are soooo correct I am delighted to have a cured liver and I am delighted to not be worsening

5 , I dont see a specialist anymore...he handed me off to my family Dr for follow up and she is very much not a liver specialist...so not a lot of chance of having her recommend a fibrosure but I might ask her about that next time...(supposed to get ultrasound every 6 months but seem to be more like 9)

Dang it Obs.  I'm sorry the results weren't what you hoped. I agree, though, that not new tumors it a very good thing. You were on a path of worsening, and now you are not.  That is good news, and it isn't over.

Keep taking good care of your cured liver, eat well, and keep up your wonderful attitude.

Hey Obs,

I know how hopeful we all get before each test and disappointed when they aren't perfect or improved. Having said that and felt your disappointment, I want to remind you that staying the same and not worse, is a victory. A BIG Victory!

Do you have the ultrasound report? Was it a routine U/S or a Fibroscan? If you can get your hands on it, I'm curious about the findings. Things like nodularity or the lack of it, is often not  explained to the patient and is important to follow. Your LFT's are good and show a good, functioning liver. The U/S showed no tumor formation, another good bit of news. If a problem existed, your labs would indicate that.

I want you to know that I think this is a good update. That tells me you and your liver are living right. Improvement is ongoing for us, faster for some and slower for others, but forward is forward, no matter the speed!
