I had a old sporty years ago, the kicker used to fall through once in a while. Caught the shock in my groin. Huge bruise that turned about 8 different colors. I also Broke the kicker arm on my shovel, hit the button and nothing.

I pinched the solenoid wire behind the battery bracket. Took all the electric start parts off it and they sit in a box to this day. Got my eye on a Indian who knows.

Shovel, did someone say Shovel?

I don't miss kickstart ratchets, at all.

https://youtu.be/Go9Aq2ijNgQ?t=7

I like thumbing a bike to start it, it suits my level of fitness these days.   In fact, I am a big fan of most of the technical advancements on motorcycles, especially the ones like "push button" starters, ABS brakes, and even electronic  suspension adjustment.

Not that I don't appreciate old school stuff, like suicide shifters, food clutches and magneto ignitions.

 .....

Then there's my ongoing detox.... which as it turns out is NOT due to my recent afib events, but a kaiser policy to "cut" everyone's pain meds back, so they can claim they are "dealing with the opioid crisis"... well the only opioid crisis I see is that the medical establishment is just using our pain issues to make politicians look good.

Question, What is the most tolerated pain by doctors?

Answer: your pain, of course!

WooHoo good to see you guys! and No-vid here either...still, fingers crossed. They are saying some might be immune from having had a different variety of coronavirus in their life at some point in their lives. It's lab study still in progress, wish we knew more. I never got the 4th jab yet and dr. is saying wait for the new one coming out any day now.

You guys that can get away from the pain relief circle deserve kudos, what a battle, pretty sure I couldn't do it. Last meds hubs got came with Narcan on the side...that's frightening.

congrats on the motorcycle Lamont, looks like fun :)

BB, Iris

Indeed! That’s not your typical BMW, I like it. Looks like your mad money account is/was bigger than mine, lol. My 2004 Toyota Echo is all I have right now, but keeping my eyes open for a truck. I could sure use one here in north Georgia. We have hardwood forests everywhere, and the need for landscape waste haul away is huge. In the meantime I’m building quite a burn pile!

I was also on Methadone and Dilaudid for chronic pain, after years of OxyContin and Fentanyl. When the opioid hysteria started I was arbitrarily and unilaterally denied further access to it. That required a self detox program that I found on Dr. Google’s website. It took months of weaning off, using what I had rat-holed for rainy days. The pain persists, but at least I’m not drug dependent. Nowadays the risk of death from fake pharmaceuticals is so high, it’s best to stay away from all of it.

It‘s good to hear from you both! Stay safe, stay well…

Hi All, Wow Lamont a new beemer good luck with it I hope you get many happy miles on er. I'm still riding my old shovel I built 30 years ago. It needs head gaskets but its way to hot to work on it.

I'll wait until the weather cools a bit. I was also on methadone, my last dose was in lets see.....1989. I was on it for 10 years. Detox was no fun but it was what I wanted. Hope everyone is doing well.

This year will be my big 70 also.

OK, all that is well and good, but 70 sure is hella old. My new doctor put me on Xarelto (anti-coagulant), and somehow got me to agree to reduce my beloved pain meds. Already enjoying the joys of my tattered cervical disks and various other MS related agonies. I had an irregular heart beat at my annual EKG, so he thinks I should reduce any QT interval meddling drugs, like methadone, a fabulous analgesic that works discreetly, sans sedation.

That's why I decided I had to get just one last really yummy motorcycle. After all I may only have another 20 years of riding left.
For anyone that cares. 2022 BMW R1250RS. moto-rama.com/photos/bikes/2022BMW/RSCLIFFHOUSE.jpg

Still no covid, even if everyone I know, practically has gotten it.

Wow, it's really nice to hear good news!

We survived C and C-19! Thanks to everyone for your stories. Glad we could all be here to share that.

Now if I could just stop being crazy, ....sigh.

Hey Scruffy!

How are you, Brother? I’m so glad you checked in! Not much happening here on the forum, but I think that’s due to the ease of treatment now. Nothing even close to the days of Incivek and Victrelis. Even though we suffered greatly from Tx, it’s still something I’m glad we did. Who knows what another decade would’ve brought us… I’m sure it wouldn’t have been good! I hope all is well in your world

Life is good!

Hope everyone is getting well, or staying that way.
