Steff,

You are welcome, I have some other links to share, as well I wish to help and be a positive proactive member.

When I read your link I cringed, and shook my head.  Journalism has really taken a nose dive in the past 15 years... IMO ...I bet if their MUM or Dad or friend had HEP C  they would look at it thru different eyes.  Just a pity the stigma they have placed on this disease...

Hopefully one day I will earn the staus of guru..giggles  keep up the good work

Hi Mary Jane and welcome smile

Thanks for the link - There has been quite a lot of talk recently about targeting the "baby boomer" generation for testing here in the UK too. HCV has reached epidemic proportions and we need action!

As Tim has also mentioned, this type of journalism is disgraceful and distorts the picture, when it could have been a good opportunity to promote awareness furious

Hello Greenqueen.... I am a newbie but I am informed..

I work for the CDC in Atl. GA in the US and I also work in the Division Of Viral Hepatitis..  how's that for ironic.. I do not have a degree but I've been around for a long time..

I would like to share a link recently published in the MMWR.. it is public information ..

Link to MMWR release of article  http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/

I have heard so many negative comments from the past as HCV" the poor man's disease" to whatever negative contentions it can be referred to... Education is the KEY..  and those types of articles never help, this is a REAL problem and people need encouragement and support..

peace and love

Wow Steff- many            for your replies to the mentially myopic comment junkies there!

I guess fear and ignorance will always elicit such comments, it's a shame when a print publication ignores it's duty to paint a complete picture of the story at-hand, rather than providing a narrow view that quite possibly is deliberately inflammatory.

Not long after World Hepatitis Day, my local rag had an article - when you read this, you realise just how ignorant some people are!

Of course I stuck my 2 cents worth in and what I would have liked to have written wouldn't have been printed.

Hepatitis Scourge

So much for raising awareness!
