Well done KAB!  That`s great news, congratulations!  That`s the sort of news we all like to hear smilesmile.

Ty, as I understand it you can be reinfected even after a successful tx - it does not give you immunity, sadly!

Love from Jill xxx

Hi KAB, Sounds like you are doing very well. Congratulations on your 1 yr post treatment viral load. I agree with what you said about after 6 mons you are considered clear. You did a whole year so you should be good to go. God bless

Hi KAB,  That is fantastic news!  I love to hear from people who've beat this thing!  You brought up something I've thought about before and that is getting reinfected.  When I read the research on how you can catch Hep C, I pretty much meet them all over the years, (plus plenty that I only suspect, LOL).  I certainly don't live quite the same life that I did in the past, but I don't want to live paranoid either.  I was sort of hoping that going through Tx would leave me immune from getting it again, (sort of like measles?).  No such luck, I guess?  Oh well, congratulations on finishing Tx.  All the best, tysmile

Thanks so much for your thoughts....Yes for sure Simon   we fought hard together and this forum was a life saver for me.  Strength in numbers for sure!!!

Jan...my understanding from what I have read/heard and been told is that it is rare to relapse after 6 months post treatment virus free unless of course you get re-infected..however I will find out more when I see my hepatologist in January.  I phoned the clinic for the results..

Thanks again

Well done KAB.  Such a relief.  Am I right in saying that it's very rare to relapse after the 6 month post tx PCR?

Love Jan x
