Hi Beth and Brendan,

I hope you both had a good Christmas. I was a bit out of it, heck I didn't notice a football game was on......lol.
But it was a good day because it was one more day closer to feeling better !

I thought Marariji's poem was good. I hope all in the forum get to the last line.

Best wishes,

James

Celebrating all Those Who Reach SVR

Somehow it came, we dont know quite when,
Chances are from a stranger; perhaps from a friend.
Often its hard to know who was the giver,
Receiver, we know, is always the liver.

Do the tests; get reports; slowly you learn
Interferon and riba are cause for concern.
But theres no other way if you want to be sure.
No other well-tested laboratory cure.

Itching and bitching and fog in the brain,
Sore throat, running nose, so much more pain
In the joints and the bones. Hair on the towel.
Rarely a smile; more often a scowl.

Never quite feeling right in the day or the night,
Dont want to go on, but I have to keep sight
That if I quit now I will never be free
Of this houseguest thats with me. Mr. Hep C.

Count the weeks; then the days; then finally hours.
Hope soon for relief as the medicine scours
Every part of the body a virus can hide.
Every last refuge completely denied.

Last shot has been taken the treatment is done.
No sign of the virus; looks like youve won.
Wait some more months just to see if its true.
Have you got back your life without further ado?

Will the patient please stand, enough has been said,
Square your shoulders, be calm and lift up your head,
All those who are present please rise in the court,
We now have the patients final report.

In the matter at hand of Hep C infected
The verdict confirms V/L still undetected.
Leave forever this world of blood tests and dread,
Have back your life The dragon is dead.
