Wishing everyone a happy and healthy new year.

Dragonfly, I had very painful, tingly hands for years prior to tx, mainly at night.  During tx it dissapeared then after tx returned but now has completely gone, 7 months post tx.  I hope this gives you some hope that it will probably go soon.

Love Jan x

HI Dragonfly

i am not post tx of course but i have had the numb tingling hands during tx..i believe its something to do with the meds reaching the nerve endings ..and in fact it improved when i started the anti depressants .

sorry this is not that helpful, hopefully it will clear up in time.
its about 5 am in West AUS and we are in the middle of a nasty heat wave , i feel pretty shabby.

take good care

Gidday Dragonfly,

While I'm not quite post-tx yet, hopefully my term on tx lends some precedence to this problem.  After having problems with circulation at my extremities leaving walking when I first awaken or effective use of my hands somewhat limited, we began to look into it.

Putting a finger on any specific research with an outcome in this area is difficult but I did find many anecdotal references from people like us on tx or in recovery from tx who were suffering similarly.  It would appear it does clear up, and I've found flexing and exercising the limbs before rising, greatly speeds the return of feeling and use to the extremeties.

Hope things are slowly but surely clearing up for you in post-tx andthat 2011 brings about many positive things for you.

Cheers,

Brendan.

Has anyone had a weird sensation of dead and painful hands after tx?  I can't really straighten them and they feel as if I've been sitting on them for hours.  My doc says it's because of the drugs but my nurse says no.  I want to get it sorted asap as I am finding it difficult to write and type.  Hope you are all well.
