biggrin Thank-you Everyone,  I would have found it very hard to get this far without all of you.

It's great to share the good news with my friends and family, but your good wishes are special,  because you have been, or are going through the same long ordeal.

I am going to keep fighting here in France for awareness about this illness, especially in the medical profession, and other high risk jobs.  Sadly, neither the student nurse nor the nurse teaching her who did my blood tests the other day, had ever heard of HepC. They didn't know that it is a blood-borne infection, and were going to take no precautions ie. rubber gloves, to protect themselves or their other patients. I am still also campaigning for legislation to be passed, to make it obligatory for clinics, dentists etc. to sterilise against HepC and HepB, as this is STILL not the case in France. Crazy in a rich country that spends such a lot on treating illness, to have such a lack of basic preventative medecine.

Brendan, I will be thinking of you doing your blood tests tomorrow, and through the uncertainty of the next week. I had no doubt that you would complete your marathon tx, overcoming all the obstacles that were put in your way. You are such a  fighter that I can't believe that any litte virus will dare to rear it's ugly head above the parapet! Best of Luck, Batmanbatman.gif

Love Annie xxxxx

Gidday Annie,

w00t.gifparty.gif CONGRATULATIONS party.gifw00t.gif

Well done Annie, that is such good news and I am so happy for you.  Getting a negative on your 6 months PCR is a real biggy, well done.

I guess you are confusing tx sx with virus sx Annie but regardless it's academic now.   I do hope things have improved, even if it's only a little, with the problems you've been having.  Hopefully this good news is the lift you need to get things going.

Thanks for the wishes for everyone's up and coming tests, I'll be going in for my 12 weeks bloods on Thursday morning and am feeling OK about them.

Cheers,

Brendan.

biggrin Hi Everyone, My test result has come back !!! NEGATIVE!!!, I was suprised as I had almost convinced myself that the virus had come back, still having symptoms/ side-effects that I associated with the illness. I am still in a state of shock, but happy shock, and can't quite believe it!

Thank you all for your good wishes. I am thinking of those who weren't as lucky as me, and of Brendan, James, Elizabeth and all the other post txers ...........I hope you all get good news soon. Strength and perseverence to everyone doing tx now.

I'm going to celebrate being alive and virus-free!

Love Annie xxxxxbiggrin

Gidday Annie,

Don't worry about that hiccup in getting the test done, take it as a good luck omen, I remember waiting on my week 24 results and they did that. When I re-did the test and it came back negative, I was over the moon and so will you be, so hang in there Annie.

It's so nice to hear you are getting good weather and you are out in the garden. I'm going in for my 3 month or 12 weeks post-tx test so I'm in the same basket as well.  Like you, the weather is good here and things in my garden are growing back after a bad wet season so all's well in the garden.

Good luck with the results.

Cheers,

Brendan.

Ugh,...I hate go back blood draws, but as you say a small snake.

I saw a very good documentry off of Netflix via the internet on VanGogh the other night. Shot from many of the locations where he painted, the asylum ....ect. I know it's not SW France but it was beautiful. Enjoy the spring, today is my last day of work on the mountain still snowing up here...lol.

Peace,

James

Hi Annie,
How frustrating for you, nevermind fingers crossed for the new results. Seems like everyone is doing some gardening, we had one of our cats helping out last weekend and have posted some pics of him helping out in "Funny cats". There's nothing like home grown vegies and herbs. I can just picture you in the SW of France. smile.gif sounds lovely.

Hugs
Greg

Hi Annie, at least they were honest, ey?  They could have just said they need more blood and left you hanging there thinking something was wrong.  I've been pouring over seed catologs and putting together an order for my garden.  Won't be able to do as much as I like this year but still can't wait.

Hi James, Elizabeth, Steff, Greg & Cate, Randy, Cloudguard, Ty, Lesley, Jan and Jill!

LOL, Got a letter from the lab to say I've got to do the 6 month blood test AGAIN, as the nurses forgot to keep it cold! Only a small snake, but frustrating, as I now will have to wait a few more days for the result, still what's that compared to months of tx! I've been making the most of the lovely spring weather here in SW France, and catching up with my veggie garden, which will soon be bursting with good things to eat.

I'm thinking of you all............Love Annie xxxxxbiggrin

Hi there Annie, condolences to you on losing your dear Dad.

I wish you all the luck in the world with your results, you`ve really been through it on tx and post-tx.

When I first joined this forum, before I`d started tx, you were always very supportive and friendly to me, so I thank you for that.

Take care Annie, fingers and toes crossed for you.

Love from Jill xxx

Hi to all my old friends and all the new forum members!

Just got back to my home in France after 6 weeks away following the death of my beloved Dad. He was a lovely, broad-minded, generous man, and a wonderful Dad. Thank-you to all the dear friends here who sent me private messages, much appreciated, I just haven't had time to respond.............

I'm now 6 months post tx, but still don't know if it has worked or not. I have been happy not to know the last few months, but now I am ready for the good or bad news. I did the all important blood test this morning, and felt a big weight lift from my shoulders, the die is cast, and the result is in the lap of the gods.

Since I fell ill in 2003 I feel that I have been climbing ladders, or rather dragging and clawing my way up, only to slide down slippery snakes almost back to where I started. Next week I should find out if I have won this game, or slid down another snake back to square one. Either way, I do feel that I have gained a lot on the journey that will stand me in good stead for the rest of my life, and I now know a lot more about myself and the people around me.

This forum, and especially the good friends that I met here, and shared the tx ordeal with, remain always in my heart and thoughts. It would have been a very lonely ordeal without you.

Lots of Love and 'Bon Courage'! Annie xxxxx
