There is a new spreadable chocolate cream cheese- my chocoholic loves it- actually made him smile, which is a bit tough right now. 9 grams I think.

oh yes, the cheese!  tons of it.  the roast beef sounds like it would be a great addition to the crisper, as well...and hot dogs.

Some ideas I had previously posted:

First thing I did was look for food low in Saturated fat, Nuts and Avacados were the best I could find. Ate nuts for the first month, until bowl movements became increasingly painful.

Now it's alot of cheese, mostly melted on toast, maybe one slice and half an avacado

Nachos are good, with cheese and chili, each nacho is good for a gram of fat

Pizza, you could do far worse than that :)

Sandwich, I like roast beef, throw in 2 tablespoons of mayo and you have your 20 grams. Or cut back on mayo and eat it with potatoe salad.

Not many, but some nutrional bars have as much as 20 grams, have to seek them out. Find most at higher price supermarkets, Whole Foods or Wegmans.

Baked potato, in microwave takes 5 min, two tablespoons of butter equal 20 grams, or mix it up and throw on some cheese and bacon bits.

Burgers and hot dogs are great sources of fat..

Some ice cream bars have 20 grms each

Potatoe chips, small bag, 10 grms.

Olive oil dip, with bread.

When I was pregnant with my third, I had to go on bedrest for 6 weeks and suddenly lolling about and watching televion 24 hours a day became torture...

Likewise, it seems, is this fatty snack that Rob has to eat before the Incivek.  Things he used to enjoy eating, like peanut butter, are now just something he has to do.

Saturday morning, he was at such a loss as to what he could eat that he had ice cream first thing in the morning, which totally upset his stomach for the duration of the morning.

So, I found myself over the weekend trying to think of how we can get the most 'bang for our fat buck' and not have it be such a beating.

For breakfast, we've found that our local grocery store has superfatty muffins in a variety of flavors that are 20 g and Otis Spunkmeyer muffins have 22.  Having those on hand will allow him to consume a breakfast-y type of food AND get his fat grams in...a sort of two birds with one stone sort of thing.

The brainstorming continued and for a fatty snack for later in the day, I made a cream cheese pound cake that would make Paula Deen proud.  Soooo tasty AND 27 fat grams per serving.  Score. (google cream cheese pound cake III for the recipe - super easy and DEEElish).

I'm making it my job to make this journey more than tolerable.
