Hi Alex, I too, like many have already stated; have gone through the brain fog and frustration and depression. I am now on an antidepressant (which helped me immensly) and currently have my own private little war going on with my sleep schedule lol I am lucky if I can wake up before 1 or 3pm and lucky if I am to sleep by 5 or 6 am. Also don't like theses sudden migraines; I have had 3 or 4 since starting treatment; never really got them before that.
The Brain fog lately for me, has gotten way worse. but I am trying to take it one day at a time, and keep a calendar close by to help me keep track of appts. or will write little postit notes to myself and stick them to my mirror I see every morning.
Bout half way done. Keep your chin up rooting for ya/

Hi Alex,

Depression, anxiety, irritability all hit me very hard and I also went on anti depressants and it has helped tremendously. I still struggle now and again...but nothing like before the anti depressants - Since I am so close to the end and I want this all this medication out of my body I reduced my anti depressants for the last week. Im want to feel the full benefits of being healthy (virus free and no meds) but I found out today and last night that it was a bad idea..I felt like throwing the food out of my frig when things were in my way and then I cried all night...today too. I have gone back to my original prescription of anti depressants until this is over...way to dangerous to try now - Im in my 22 week of 24 weeks..May 18 last shot. Good luck Alex!

The first time I did treatment I didn't have a clue about depression, it hit me hard. This time I've been on anti D's and it has made all the difference. If a person is depressed it needs to be dealt with. Ask for help. There is no shame with depression, I wish our society dealt with it better.

Hi Alex...yeah I had the same crazy sleeping schedule on treatment. I'd get into bed at 12 then stay wired up to 5 am. Have you considered changing the timing of the ribavirin dose - say to at least 4 hours before you sleep? Also get a bottle of benadryl - I found it helped a bit.

Hi Alex,

Ditto to what Isiscat has said - all normal reactions to tx.

Everyone's different with regards to recovery times, post tx, but I lost the urge to strangle people pretty quickly biggrin

Love Steff xx

Hi Alex: I experienced mental issues including irritability, confusion, feeling miserable, and even an altered sense of reality during tx and did not take anything for it.  Happily, my head began to clear within a day or two of stopping tx and I felt better mentally right away.

I am still not 100% cognitively, having trouble remembering words, holding onto more than 1 thought or thing at a time, etc.  And, attempts to multitask are frustrating.  Frustration results in crankiness.  But, 3 weeks post tx, I feel so much better mentally.

Physically it is another story, as my hgb and platelets continue to drop, but hopefully this too will improve.

Hey guys, I'm 4th week of tx, next week to start boceprevir and want to ask some post-tx questions and think that u can answer better than any doctor to me.

I get that feeling that I cant be around people and can't be alone at the same time, short fuse temper and inability to focus. I dont really want to take antidepressants bc I believe that u help one thing and damage another. Can't fall asleep until 5am and then It's a mission to get up at 1pm. Don't really want my friends to be around to not to see my crankiness. My dr told my that down feeling is absolutely normal and will go away. I was just wondering if anyone experienced the same/similar and how fast and if this has disappeared post tx.

Thank u guys for finding time to respond even after u completed tx,
