Hmmmm didn't know it was weight based. I would be on a pretty low dose for my weight. 800 for day. I'm no skinny Minnie . But on other side my WBC tanked and I have to take a neurogenic shot each week so if my dosage was higher it might be worse.

hmm  Oh yes, there is the conversion to consider. Since I wrote back they took me off treatment! I am bummed out. My 12 week reslts cam back the same as week 4 <43. But the Dr. did not tlke the weird side effects I was having. So, what next-who knows. But <43 i still a lot better than VL of 14,400,000!!

i take riba at 1200mg daily.... take 600mg twice a day....

i have to check my weight tho, coz we use kilos here and i have no idea about the weights you guys use...

Need to clarify that the dosages I quoted were for Pegintron. Pegasys could be different.

Thanks all, for the numerous & positive responces. 

 

I apololgize, I should have clarified, I have the 200Mg Riba tabs, not the 600`s. I just spoke with my Gi`s office today, Dosage is correct- total daily 1200Mg. taken as - 2 x 200 Mg 3 x`s daily.  Thanks for all of your resoponces ! 

 3 days down; 0 problems so far.

Wow, I have not seen this info before.  I was taking at least 200 mg per day more than I should have of riba for the first 7 weeks of tx.  I wonder if that had anything to do with the rapid response and my side effects (my VL went from 12 million to < 43 in three not four weeks because I was inadvertently tested a week early).

I bounce around 148 lbs and take 1000 mg, but bumping around the 800 mg weight, so I'm watching it along with the blood counts. Hi there and welcome,

The doctor knows best, but three 600mg Riba's per day sounds like an awful lot. Usually one in the morning and one later in the day (like with the second or third Incivek dose) would be enough. Be sure and ask him, the sooner the better. The ribavirin is usually what messes with people's red cell and hemoglobin numbers. I am currently doing 3 200mg ribas a day because my hematacrit went too low.

Bless u Look4mcs doing 1600 of ribivarin a day. 1000 mg is tough for me to do. How much do you weigh?  I weighed 130 start of tx and 111 right after Incevik. Gained 2 pounds so far. So Riba is definately hitting me hard . I would ask MDs office about your dose. Welcome to the forum. We will help you as much as we can. Triple therapy works a lot better than the old Tx. Maybe he is giving u more Riba becaue you failed tx before and had had meds reduced. But 1600 sure will cause some anemia. Keep an eye on your CBCs.

Hi,

My fingers are crossed for sure. Ihad some inemia going on also so part I won't miss. It will be interesting to see if w/just the 12 weeks of all 3 and 1 more week of riba & peg if I achieve "0". Then I guess I will have to worry about relapse

If you have any side effects that you wonder what to do about please ask. One of my best friends was a product called "Bottom Butter". I didn't go anywhere without it!!

I always worry about the riba since it caused my anemia.

Hi & Welcome, ts is a great place to ask questions & get answers! I joined shortly after I started triple tx. I was doing the incevik 3 times a day(eating those lovely 20 grams of fat 20 min. ahead, 600mg of riba AM & PM,(so I would check that 3x's a day) and peg injection once a week. Got through te incevik pretty well but started have some really weird sx in week 11. Dr. made me stop treatment on 2/13. Boy was I bummed. Still don't have my 12 week VL results. I was <43 at week 4.

I wish you all the best during treatment, and remember there are no dumb questions, This forum has been very helpful!

Hello to all ! Just started Incevik trpl ther. today, just did my 3rd dose for the day. The nurse from Vertex at the prestart seminar said only 2x`s per day for the Ribaspher, My GI had 3x`s daily on the script (1600mg day Riba). My Dr.`s office was closed when I got out. Doing Riba 3x`s day. Will call them Monday.This is a long, extremly valuable road to go.  I`m thrilled I found this website & all you great people sharing what you go through to help us all. Thanks !

 

 

Diag. June 2010, VL 480,000, Hep C, genode type 1a, Strt dble treatment Oct. 2010, got Anemia, Dec.-10, cut Pega, Riba dose in 1/2 for 1 1/2 mos. Full dose agn - Jan-2011.failed double therapy, VL 1300. Mar.-2011. Stage 3 Cirrosis.  Started Triple, Incev. Rib,Inter Feb.-18-2012, VL 500,000.
