Thanks for the reply Cinnamon...

I've decided that it's better to be safe than sorry in this instance so I'm not going to take any enzymes that have protease listed as an ingredient.

Even the very thought of unwittingly (albeit possibly) providing the virus with "fuel" so to speak... shook me up.... so it's just not worth it.

Better to be out a few dollars than possibly see my viral load sky rocket.

In Christ,

Reverer

I guess nobody knows the answer to this one...

maybe I'll call Incivek up and ask them if protease enzyme supplements are contraindicated with protease inhibitors.... someone has got to know the answer.

Hi Reverer, sorry none of us has got back to you before now, sometimes new posts get overlooked, especially if no-one knows how to respond.  I guess you`ve had us all puzzled!  Anyway, welcome to the forum! smile

That`a an interesting question and I don`t remember it coming up before.  Just had a look at the Incivek prescribing details which has a list of medications you should avoid when taking Incivek, and it looks like you`re fine with those.  If you scroll down you`ll find that information -

Always best to check things out though if you`re worried, if only to put your mind at ease.

All the best, Jill xx

Hello everyone,

Newbie here... I just purchased some Pancreatin digestive enzymes for the lipase in it and started taking it this morning.... but I was somewhat alarmed when I noticed that one of the enzymes listed was "protease."

Does anyone know if this the same enzyme protease inhibitors target to reduce HCV RNA?

If so, can taking this supplement orally possibly feed the viruses ability to replicate?

Thank you in advance for any replies!

God Bless.
