Thank you for the encouraging words. I can tell you I have visited this site dozens and dozens of times over the last 13 weeks or so. Always could find something to help get over the hump.

Wow! I am also very impressed--all 4 meds at once. Glad you are down to just 3--I really think the Victrelis is a little milder on the sx. Lots of fatigue. Keep hanging!!

Yes, please stay in touch. Just seeing your choice of nicknames and knowing what you have done will keep me from getting the blues about  my situation. And what is it about weeks 9,10 and 11 on Incivek? I was begging for death so I could get better. Actually crying out each time I had to use the bathroom. My poor wife trying to act brave and prop me up. Just thinking about it chokes me up. But what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, they say.

Best to you in everything,

Alan

So glad you are off the Incevik and undetectable. I agree with Alan, you must be one tough person. I am so sorry you had such a hard time so far. WIth one less drug it will be better. Gosh i really do admire you. That combo you are taking ought to kill the Hep c C real good. I remember when you started. The only person in the world on all four drugs at that time. Hope you get to get off at 24 weeks. I was feeling pretty down today and you posting what you are going thru with your much more awful treatment than mine has inspired me. Check in more often. But know you have been feeling awful. You have been missed. Hugs!!!

Yes all four for the first 12 weeks, the Victrelis stays for 24 weeks and then they let me know if I have to keep going till 48 weeks with the Ribavirin and Pegasys or stop. I'm hoping stop.

You can only imagine the sx from this combo. Week 9, 10 and especially 11 where unbelievable. They call it fire-eah, on the toilet 6 times every morning each time more painful and bloody than the last. It just about broke me.

So you were using all four until you ran out of Incivek? Holy smokes! You must be made of steel. Congrats on the UND, and for being strong enough to take that kind of beating and still be walking and talking.

Here is an update on progress. I am involved in a clinical study using Pegasys, Ribavirin, Victrelis and Incivek. Here is a viral recap. When I was screened for the study my viral load was 9,170,000. The day I started tx it was at 5,360,000 at week 1 it measured 75 and at week two <25. Week 4, 8 and 12 have all been undetectable.

I stopped the Incivek after 12 weeks and thank God, the terrible sx have started to dissipate none too soon. Only concern at the moment are rising liver enzymes or ALTs. Not quite sure why but they dont think liver cancer because of the screening protocols.

This Thursday will be shot #14 with at least 24 in total. I have been very fatigued cant seem to ever get enough sleep, hopefully that too will change shortly.
