Hi Kiwi--the couch is a comfy place! I have actually moved outdoors--only because we are having a glorious early WARM spring. Sit outside with my water, book, phone--so I can play games and have started watching butterflies. The dogs love it--they lay around or chase some butterflies, birds, squirrels. I am really excited some friends are taking me out to the movies today! Not sure how to act in public

Not worrying about tomorrow either

I only took one Procrit shot and a week later it made the long bones (arms, legs) in my body ache just as I had read.  That lasted for about two weeks and made sleeping more difficult.  No other SX.

Hey Meghan

The Procrit has been a hard one for me--the day after my 2nd shot--my entire body hurt and it keeps me from sleeping. So it was not one of my better days. Fortunately--it only lasted a day--then went back to more mild "normal" sx from the whole tx. I did finally look up the sx and sure enough--it was all there--pain, insominia, dizziness. Just told me boss--not to expect me next Wednesday--I will be dizzy, sleepy and hurtin'

Hope all is well with you!

Thanks

Shep, I didn't notice any side effects from the procrit but maybe they just blended in with the others.  You can go to the manufacturer's website here to find out more about side effects: www.procrit.com

Good luck!  It took about 3 weeks for it to kick in to where my hemoglobin was rising. aloha,

Meghan

Alan & Kelly
thanks for the responses--I am starting to be less dizzy and my brain has made a partial re-appearance. But I have really made myself cozy on the couch. Have watched old Elizabeth Taylor movies all afternoon. And of course because it is spring break--it has rained ALL day and gotten cold--so it made sitting on the couch easier to handle. I do have to drag myself to the neighbors to feed their animals, dog, cat & 7 chickens. I think it will be good for me to take a walk in the rain

Hey Shep, I've been on it three weeks now... I think . But it really made me lethargic and apathetic and very tired. I wasn't sure if it was the anemia or the procrit but think this last time was better than the first couple. Hard to tell about the brain stuff. I seem normal to me I am at work and I burst out laughing when i read what u said about your mother!

Hi, Shep

The week after my first procrit shot was the worst of my life. It takes a week or two for the stuff to start working, but it has some sides of its own that line up pretty bad with the other sides in tx. I was not able to function at all. I just laid around, under the covers, watching daytime TV (a cheap and sordid affair at best), feeling pretty terrible. But once the procrit actually started doing its stuff, I got better real fast. The light headed feeling right after the shot was the first thing that happened for me. The loss of appetite (on top of the already existing loss of appetite from tx) was dramatic. All I could do was nibble soda crackers, sip ginger ale, and dread the next 20g fat bomb with my Incivek. I had a headache, chills and pain in my joints. I couldn't believe the way they expected me to administer the stuff. It came in little vials, with four syringes and needles that actually had to be put together, and the medicine had to be sucked out of the vials. I never did that before. The Pegasys syringes are already loaded up and ready to go. And it looks like so much medicine in the syringe. But again it was just me freaking out. The procedure went well once I did it.

All I can say is hang on for a few days. relief is on the way, and it will be noticeable. And the procrit doesn't seem to make a red patch at the injection site, so you can't use it in your belly art.

Alan

I am fuzy on the sx of Procrit--actually I am just fuzy about everything.

But--how does it make you feel?--just did the 1st shot yesterday--at the doctor's office. I made my nurse so happy & proud--she said I shoot like a pro. And I felt somewhat energetic when I got home--had a delightful evening ( for a change). This morning I am dizzy and feel like my brain went some place else. Did not sleep real well,  but did get some sleep--I can not put 2 thoughts together or follow through with a simple task without several attempts. What really scares me--is my 91 year old mother with dementia is beginning to make sense to me--sort of

How's everyone else doing with this stuff? Oh yea--have totally lost appetite
