Thanks everyone - been a long, yet very good day with a large smile.

Didn't get too much sun, but this weather is amazing.

Cheers!   More news to come in further weeks!

Dan

Congrats on the undetectable, but don't get too much sun.  Ribavirin and sun do not mix well.

Dude, that is HUGE!

A 4 week undetectable bodes very well for SVR chances.

Attaboy, Dan. Great start. If you play it right you can be done in 24 weeks. I know Sis is thinking about some additional time, but since you started a little later you guys could finish about the same time. Congrats and keep it up. Alan

Welcome Malinois!  Your sister is a real trooper and I'll bet you are made of the same stuff too.  It is so interesting for me to see a sister and brother team doing tx together.  My brother also has Hep C but he opted to wait a while for tx.  I wish you all the best.

If you haven't already done so, perhaps you can call the lab where you had it drawn.  Most labs do not do the PCR analysis in house; they have to send them to a second lab.

My results were always back within a week, but it depends on where they send the sample, and even the day of the week the sample goes out.  For example, my local lab only sent the blood off for PCR analysis one time per week (on Monday afternoon) so timing of the draw can factor into it too.  Hang in there, it should be very soon.

Hi Malinois.

I live in Vegas, and the serum is sent to Calif., so I have to wait about 8 to 14 days.

This is with the 2-part  test called Heptimax.  It uses a PCR method down to 43, then uses a TMA method to measure down to 5.

Results take longer to get than a PCR only test, like the Roche Taqman, which is done in more places.

Hey, I really hope you get a 4 week undetectable, keep us informed!

Hang in there,

Brad

New to site - my sister (LanaiSurferGirl) started same treatment in November, I started in February. Both contracted from mother at birth - both previous nonresponders to combination interferon.

I have been on incivek triple tx since 2/7.  Had my 4 week labs done on 3/8 and still no results. Anyone else had to wait this long for their VL count?

Im on pins and needles, we all are, waiting for the news.
