Thanks Bill, but I usually am a very good sleeper and am inclined to steer clear of any ongoing drugs. I saw the doc yesterday she said it could still be a result of tx drugs in my body. I dont know, as I have had episodes of this before tx and I have had no real issues the last couple of weeks since tx finished. Then this all of a sudden, it bothers me during the day also. Any way she gave me some mild sleepers to try for a few days and hopes that will get me through until the RLS passes. Lets hope.

My wife has suffered from this for years found out about it because she could break windows and collapse roofs when snoreing, safe she does not use a computer.  Anyways she was tested for sleep apnea and the RLS is what was found.  She takes prescribed Pms-Ropinirole .25mg  Take two tablet before bedtime.  Other name on prescription was Ropinirole Hydrocloride.

Just read about that today...
Warm showers, massage and stretching before going to bed. Decrease the caffeine use during the day.

I had RLS  occasionally before tx. No problen on tx. But now it is back again really badly. whilst on tx I was taking codine (panadine forte) two, at the most four a day, I was worried it was a withdrawal but it has been a week since I have had any at all and I certainly have no cravings for it. This is driving me nuts, I slept better on tx because I was so tiredblankstare

Any sugestions or similar experiences?

Edit- pescribed by doc and approved by gastro.

Hahaha......maybe a clinical trial should be started to explore this idea further.  wink

Imagine the data:  98% reported vast improvement in RLS.....and could not stop smiling.

Kate,

You are exactly right. At my house we have discovered that when the "nervous kness" hit either or us, we know the solution. We discovered it quite by accident, but have benefited many times. Thankfully, there is no cumulative effect. Each case must be handled separately.

I've had restless leg syndrome for years and have tried exercise, drugs, and everything else under the stars, including the Highland tabs.  Somehow my husband and I figured out that if we got busy, we both were able to fall asleep easily and he had no reason to be annoyed at me for keeping him awake.  In fact, he never complains when I start twitching anymore!  The great thing is you don't need a partner to get relief!  To answer Iris' question, I just do it as needed, I don't think there is a cumulitive effect, but it can't hurt!

Sleep well everybody!

Maybe, I'm not,...uh..."doing it "enuf, but Kate, are you saying you need to drop everything and get that "over" with before you have any relief or, doing it on a regular basis will keep the restless legs at bay??? The Hylands remedy works real well for me, (when I can get it) but I have a theory about this restless legs thing, ...so many people have it, to varying degrees. Have you all had a polio vaccine some time in your life? They never knew what the long term effects of that might be,...could this be it? I know, I know pretty wild idea, but whada ya think? Hummmm, Iris

I too get it. Seems to come and go without a pattern. It is my number one complaint. It makes me crazy. I tend to go bed exhausted barely able to lift my legs into bed, then 2 hours later I feel I have to run around the block, which of course I have no energy for.

Hi Innerview.

First off, I love the avatar.

You know, I had  some of the leg problems too, after some of my first Peg. shots.  Benedryl (diphenhydramine) helped a little. It got better after the incivek was finished.

Also wilsondog's suggestion is worth a (couple?) tries ;))

i do know that epsom salts (magnesium) in a nice hot bath is good for that.... and i have heard on of 'hylands restless leg" that you can buy in the states...

after gettin clean off hard drugs, i know a little bit bout restless legs, not pleasant either. good luck.

ive had a bit of it too, specially when i am really tired... reminds me of being a kid when you are up too late.... so i turn everything off and head for bed... no fighting it.
