I finished my treatment in 2001. We'd had a bad ice storm and I had fallen branches all over and pushed through the illen feelin to do what I could. The next week, my first after treatment, for me was like walking on the gravity-free moon suddenly.

Hey,  I'm going on 8 weeks post tx.   At three weeks my energy level was very good.  At five weeks I felt pretty normal, full energy.   I still have occasional flashes of brain fog  and a little insomnia, but everything else is pretty normal.

Glad your almost to home plate.

Thanks everyone! My mom just finished heavy cancer treatments and it has taken her a year to start feeling well. I'm glad to hear it wont take quite so long for me. It's interesting how differently it effects different people. Thanks again for all the feed back. It definitely helps me realize that I should relax and take it as it comes.

Hi Derrek.

I just finished the 24 wk, Incivek Tx.  Pegasys 10 days ago, Ribavirin 3 days ago.

I already feel better.  The nagging Peg headache has just gone, and the riba itchiness is about half what it's been.  I actually slept well last night.  Also, my mental clarity is already improving.

Oh, I guess I was kinda nauseous all through TX, but didn't really notice until yesterday, when I realized "wow, I don't feel sick".                                    Like they say "You don't know what you got 'till its gone"...in this case, that's a very GOOD thing.

Hang in there man, you're almost out!

Brad

(Geno 1a, Incivek Triple Tx, und. since week 4, finished 4/3/12, Pm)

Gidday Derek,

I worked while on tx a bit but had to take it real easy.  Like you, if I tried to much the ol' drugs let me know real quick that I was over doing it.  After I finished it wasn't much different for a fair while as well, but after having been on tx for so long and having learnt to listen to my body, I just had to be patient (and I'm not:) and slowly work my way back into it.

Everyone's different I s'pose, but  if tx knocks you about a bit, perhaps it's a sign that like me, you'll just have to take it slowly at first and try and build things up.  Believe you me, it doesn't matter how tough you are, like on tx, if you over-do it you'll spend longer recovering and so instead of two steps forward and just as many back all the time, little steps at first get you back on your feet the best.

I'm a workaholic and found it really hard because I was a bit stubborn.  Do yourself  a favour and take it easy until you work out how you are coping.

Congrats on getting near the end of tx, don't push the last ones, they can be the roughest.  You say tx has knocked you a bit, that's a great sign that it has worked and will contnue to.  All the best for the remainder of tx and with your future.

Cheers,

Brendan.

Congrats on being near the end of your treatment man. I started to feel noticeably better about a week after treatment ended. In the last month of treatment I went back to work full time, along with the gym, I was very lucky. I guess my body just got used to feeling "not normal". Take it slow. I pushed myself way too hard many times and felt like it set me back in the last month of my treatment (running, lifting, working overnight). Never quit the water! I slacked on the water maybe 4 months into treatment and felt crappy until I realized what I had done maybe 6 weeks later. If your freelance try it out small perhaps, see how you feel. Listen to your body though, of you need rest, rest. Good luck. - Mike

Hi Derek, glad to hear you're almost through with tx. Hang in there. For me it seemed I was feeling better in the first couple of weeks. I think the first week I didn't have to take a shot it was a big mental boost - I wanted to do everything. But it does take a little time to get your blood back in order so there will still be some fatigue when you overdo it. My last shot was in August, 2011 and by Fall I was out in the woods hunting and cutting firewood. I didn't have quite the spunk as normal but I was glad just to be able to do it. Hope this helps.

Take care Bro,
Randy

Hey, I'm at the point where I only have 4 weeks left of treatment. I've had VERY low energy though this. To the point where I can only clean out one drawer (even half of one) and get rid of old things before I get to exhausted to finish. I'm a photographer and carry heavy gear for work so I'm trying to figure out when I may be able to return to work. I'm a worker bee, and not working has been killing me. I'd like to ask if anyone know's about what point after finishing treatment they start to feel "normal" with energy and all. So I can start planning on getting back out into the world. Thanks for all the help.

-Derek
