Carl, congratulations, good luck for next VL tests.

You posted ones very useful chart for Hemoglobin levels after 12 weeks. Can you updated it for your 18 weeks?   Thanks

great to hear!!  I was also on reduced riba for a while (2 weeks of no riba, 4 weeks of just 200 mg, 2 weeks of 400 mg, and 1 of 600 mg before going back to my normal dose of 800).  I am inspired to hear that you are still negative.  I am going to try for a total of 36 weeks to wipe this thing out but keep having new side effects pop up so am taking it a little bit at a time. :)

I must confess I always hold my breath when I am about to hear the results of my viral load test.  I suspect this is particularly true for those of us relapsers who lived through 48 weeks of combo treatment (as I did in 2001) with an undetectable viral load -- only to be told "It's back" six months post treatment.

The fact that I have been on a 600mg Riba dose since week 11 has made me worry how that might impact my success.  After all, why would they prescribe 1,200mg if 600mg produces the same results?

So I asked for an 18-week "Heptimax" viral load test (normally they are only done at 4, 12 and 24 weeks) for peace of mind.   I held my breath yet again when the Dr called this morning.  Phew...My viral load is still negative!   Just two more calls like that I am home free.

Maybe I should allow myself to imagine that this treatment really will work this time.  I have been afraid to entertain such thoughts.
