My Dog is great, we love him to death, keeps me up an moving at times when I had rather not.  He has a great sense of humor and makes me laugh.

Now let me bore you with one of my favorite, little know Led Zepplin stories.

Now, for you Led Zepplin and Dog lovers, here is something a lot of people don't know about one of their songs.  Bron-Y-Aur Stomp was writen about Plant's Dog and the love between them.

Wikiopedia - n "Bron-Y-Aur Stomp", a country music-inflected hoedown, singer Robert Plant waxes lyrically about walking in the woods with his blue-eyed Merle dog named Strider.[2] Plant reportedly named his dog after Aragorn (often called Strider) from J. However, there are no explicit references to Tolkien works in "Bron-Y-Aur Stomp". The lyrics also make reference to the song "Old Shep": When you're old and your eyes are dim / There ain't no "Old Shep" gonna happen again.

Lyrics

"Bron-Y-Aur Stomp"

Ah caught you smiling at me, That's the way it should be,
Like a leaf is to a tree, so fine.

Ah all the good times we had, I sang love songs so glad
Always smiling, never sad, so fine.

[Chorus]
As we walk down the country lanes, I'll be singing a song,
Hear me calling your name.
Hear the wind within the trees, Telling Mother Nature 'bout you and me.

Well if the sun shines so bright, Or on our way it's darkest night
The road we choose is always right, so fine.

Ah can your love be so strong When so many loves go wrong
Will our love go on and on...

[Chorus]

My, my la de la come on now it ain't too far,
Tell your friends all around the world,
Ain't no companion like a blue eyed merle.
Come on now well let me tell you,
What you're missing, missing, 'round them brick walls.

So of one thing I am sure, It's a friendship so pure,
Angels singing all around my door, so fine.
Yeah, ain't but one thing to do Spend my natural life with you,
You're the finest dog I knew, so fine.

When you're old and your eyes are dim, There ain't no old Shep gonna happen again,
We'll still go walking down country lanes, I'll sing the same old songs,
Hear me call your name.

Lady, what a gorgeous pooch.

Let me share an embarrassing situation with you. It was my first day off meds so I wasn't feeling real super but I had to take my kids to the local show/country fair. We hadn't been for 3 years so I challenged my son to go on an exciting ride with me. The ride was called the "extreme". You sit on suspended seats and are spun around at 160km/hreyepopping.gif. That was ok Whoo hoo moment until you continued spinning whilst the ride almost had you upside down. Ethan and I both went very quiet and held on to each others hands for life. Anyway.... got off the ride said with no uncertainty " won't do that again" and laughed at ourselves. After about 1/2hr walking around My backside started getting quite uncomfortable. When I got home I realised that being spun around at that velocity and having blood with a viscosity equal to water I had a substantial potrusion around my anus. OMG I have a massive roid the size of a macadamia nut. *Shakes head*  goose.omfg.gif

Hey Kiwi! yes I have a dog named Kiwi--she was thrust upon me by 2 teenage girls saying they found her in a parking lot--that was a fabrication but by the time I found out--I was in love. She was a tiny ball of fluff--but after about 3 weeks sprouted legs and kept getting bigger & bigger. She is so bad--chews stuff, dig holes and helps herself to treats in the kitchen--like my gluten-free birthday cake that I baked myself. LOL

Purple is a dear and so pretty. Love the name

Everyone has such wonderful beasts--they do keep us company and are very understanding. Thanks for sharing everyone!

Ahhh... big boned. I like that.

Charlie eats dirt, leafs, flowers, sticks, worms, moss (gets his greens), and the occasional dog poop (yuk!)

He acts like he doesn't get food at home. Will this behavior change as he gets older??????????

Hey Shep, I too am a dog lover, but they do have their moments..  Love the part about "converting" your screen into a dog door.

My dogs have also converted many things.  Like a newspaper into confetti.  And pillows into cotton balls.  A peacefull backyard into a terror zone for small animals.  And sleep into shouts of "SHUT UP! - OFF OFF!. And worst of all...perfectly good dog food into yard "land mines".

But they have also converted a dull day into the funniest events EVER.  And lonely times into time spent with a loyal companion.  It's hard to beat their total trust, and unconditional love. Worth the price!

Ha Ha...  some good and FUNNY points about the dogs Brad!!!  But this mornings 5am wake up by Tuxedo Charlie (14 week old pup) was a bit unwelcomed... ESPECIALLY now that I don't have to get up for my morning telaprevir! (I guess he doesn't know that little bit of info though). But he is a fluffy lovable guy to have around! But man, he is a hand full! I can't wait till I am back at my hiking energy and we can get out on the trails in the forest for hours and hours.

 he he, good stuff people.

Kim- Love the 'Dose time RANDOM danicing!'

Kiwi- You and ur  ol mate purple sound like quite a pair, couple of dears in sync with your meds. gold. And baby wipe adoration, well we all gotta love a gentle wipe, sore butt or not.

Mikey- I was thinking the same myself, besides feling like crap most of the time, i'm wrapped to have lost 6kgs only 5 to go. yee haa.

Shep- OMG you grump,   What is this world comming to with adoring pets that won't make their mind up and"pesky song birds" which interupt our serenity. UNREAL.

My friends we've got to be a bit loco and laugh at ourselves. Allowing ourselves to be misserable (although we feel it) can only make this less bearable for us and those around us.

9pm alarm is now met with "Snack Time!!"

Sitting out side with hubby and "far out I feel like crap" Is met with laughter from both of us because OF COURSE , WHO WOULD'NT FEEL LIKE POO PROCESSING ALL THESE MEDS!!!

I told my Doc that if this liver thing didn't work out for Peg/Riba/Vic they could market it as an appetite suppressant and sleep aid.  He was *slightly* amused. :)

Oh my I needed some giggles! My afternoon drug alarm goes off during my office hour which is in the actual office of the school and the whole crew lets everyone know --It's 2:30! The dogs love the 6 pm alarm because they know it is dinner time!

I really do love my 2 dogs--they keep me company and aggravated at the same time. They want in--they want out. Finally just leave the screen door open that they converted into their personal dog door. That way they can keep the yard clear of the pesky song birds.

Tuxedo charlie is gorgeous. My 7 yr old boof head golden lab named Stich thinks it's magic to find the most rancid decaying creature he can, roll in it then press his massive noggin into my lap for congratulations. then looks at you with those adorable big puppy eyes as if to say"what's wrong, l love you&I smell delicious"

Here he is denying he's been off wandering and going through the schools bins!! hmmmmm. BUSTED!! Note- It is 2.5km to the school from our house.

I could use a laugh.   thanks for sharing.

we did get a puppy for my son's birthday. I didn't realize how much energy that would take and I've had dogs before, but on tx it is a whole other story!  Still it is nice to have a warm fuzzy lovable friend to hang out with all day. (who doesn't irritate the living daylights out of you).

That's cute, Kristy. We have to laugh about it, right? I have my cell phone alarms set as a reminder and when it goes off, it plays this funky little song. The kids and I all start dancing to it immediately, no matter what we're doing, when we hear it. It makes us giggle. Instead of "time to take my nasty meds" I think of it as "time to dance." lol! Maybe being slightly crazy helps me deal with this hellish tx. haha!

Sitting down with hubby last night and my trusty alarm signals it's time to take my meds. Hobby's nibbling on a bowl of nuts, so I proceed to gather my colourful assortment of capsules and tabs and place them in my own little bowl and sit back down with my bottle of aqua. He looks at me and cracks up laughing commenting "a little snack before bed my darling".

Guess you had to be there but it is nice to be able to have a laugh at this mostly unpleasant experience we call treatment.smile
