Hi Mark.

Congrats on starting TX (treatment).  Hang around and read all you can, and you'll learn tons about your upcoming SX's (side effects), and ways to help alleviate them.

You'll hear TONS about staying hydrated.  It will help you in more ways than I can list here.  Things like keeping your skin hydrated and less itchy, generally detoxifying you by flushing out the meds, even helping prevent tooth decay, which can happen if your mouth is too dry, for too long.

Regarding red bull, my doc said no vitamins/minerals were contra-indicated except iron supplements, and herbal remedies, especially milk thistle (He didn't want my liver enzymes being changed by ANYTHING but the Virus and TX, so he could monitor more closely). Be aware, however, the caffeine in Red Bull can be diuretic (even more drying).

One interesting thing however, is coffee was shown to reduce side effects and mabe even improve therapy response in one study.  You can google the phrase "coffee hepC treatment" and you will find it.  It is also on the hepc advocate site.   Since I love coffee, I drank a couple of cups each day while on TX.  I made sure to drink extra water to make up for it.

One last thing.  You may also want to google "vitamin D SVR".  I think it may also be on this site (it was before).  I added 4,000 IU VIT D  to my treatment regimen, as it was shown to increase SVR quite a bit in a legitmate study.  I did check with my doctor.

I do not suggest you drink red bulls at all.
I gave them up as hard on liver. The RIBA
Medicine will hype you up so u won't need
Anything else. Stay away from red bulls!
Just my opinion. I am on my day 2 of triple tx
W Invicek. Doing okay. I slept most of today.
Get menu items for 20g of fat as medicine won't
Break down properly without fat!!
Buy sensitive baby wipes, zinc onimonent for burning after
Using bathroom---called fire in the whole on formun.
Take two Tylenol pm when u do shot to help sleep
Unless u take sleep aid already then take extra strength
Tylenol.
Keep me posted! Drink lots of water like 72-80 ozs a day.

I'll be starting incivek triple tx in about 2 weeks, and I just have a silly little question: Is it okay to drink Red Bull enegry drink, I usaully like to have a couple a day. But I also know it's got lots of B12, Niacin, B6, Pantothenic Acid and Taurine and dont know the effects on liver and treatment. Just thought someone out there might have had a simular citutation.
