Rebellion? You?  Hmm wait I remember...something about being poked at during a party...

About that 80% compliance, I love the logic.  Get the 80% out of the way, then quit 20% early.

Let's twist the logic back:  YOUR Tx will now be 60 weeks, but if you do 100%, you can stop early (at 48 weeks) Awesome, huh?  ;))

Shep , you made me laugh at the "perfected my delay tactics"  Yeah, I got good at that too.  Unfortunately, it has carried over to post TX.  One look at the total mess in my garage...:(

Keep smiling, everyone.

Brad

hahaha, good one brad. makes perfect sense... lol. you know me too well. haha.

soooo i guess they were right when they said this stuff can mess with our brains too. or is this just me being normal. haha. not even... i dont do normal..

yeh, love the advice.

keep smiling yeh. smile

im off to procrastinate, its thursday evening here. im growing to hate thursdays.. disbelief. ah well. only 19 more to go....wink

Shep and Brad I totally do the procrastination thing. I stay up later.... Do the crossword as well, scrabble online, recheck emails and forum notes. Search utube. Then when I can barely keep my eyes open.....

I think we must all be thinking like that.  Hmmm, what cheats are allowed that won't diminish my chances of SVR?

There have been numerous discussions that having to reduce your Riba won't affect your SVR chances.  I discovered at week 10, on the manufacturer's site, that for my weight I should be on 1200mg Riba, not the 1000mg I've been prescribed.  I thought about getting mine upped.  But I've been lucky enough to escape the rash, rescue drugs, and been able to work throughout treatment which is huge.  Plus I've been UND at weeks 4 and 12.

So I hope those discussions are correct because I've been "cheating" for 16 weeks now and plan to continue.

All the Best,  Dave

i even thought this "" ok, so if svr depends on 80% compliance, and ive given it 100% compliance, and im und, does that mean i can stop this treatment at 40 weeks instead of 48 coz its about 80%,??'''

ok, seriously, i know i cant do that. but hell my brain does some funny stuff on this treatment and came up with that idea... lmao eh.

ok, so yeh, we can just behave and get on with it.... :)

Man I love this reasoning, makes perfect sence to me! Brain creating some very ammusing rationial, I got a a whole bloody comedy convention going on.smile

Yep, Kelly may as well finish it off by the book, then if (god forbid) there are any issues later you can be sure YOU did everything right!!

take care on the home strech!!

Kiwi! I was thinking the same thing!! Is 3 weeks really going to make me svr?buuuut I will be good. Too scared to not follow the rules with the "big gun" shots. But it does cross ones mind. It's like when you quit a job and your final 2 weeks are torture cause u know you are leaving .

Thanks everyone. Nice to know I'm not alone in this. Just feel like I've had my head down plodding along for a long time, now that I can see the finish line I feel like making my own decisions. But I need to make good ones

Kelly--you made me giggle when I read this. I have 5 weeks left to go and am feeling a little rebellious myself. I have already planned that I will NOT do my Procrit the last week and right now the shot is waiting for me. Just don't want to go do it--but I will. I am out of school so I have really prefected me delay tactics--had to finish the crossword, cryptiquote and the sudoko before going to take my shot. Then it was I need to check on my Words with Friends games--all really important stuff. Glad Brad is around--he is the voice of reason for me too. Off to do the shot!

Hang in there Kelly--we are going to finish this!!!

I understand the rebellion. I had a secret plan to increase my riba again when the HGB got over 11 again even though the dr said we would hold it at 600. Its now over 11, undetected all the way through, other CBC's have lined out, feel much better in many ways than before, 2 more shots to go, and I am feeling more compliant by the minute. I just want to finish in the best shape possible. Looked in the full length mirror today getting dressed, which was not a good idea. I have some serious work ahead of me in the next phase.

Thanks for the posts. Opens my eyes when I start to write it out for public viewing instead of just mulling it over in my convoluted mind. Have a doctors appt tomorrow. I will do what he says.

Hi Kelly.

THREE WEEKS LEFT!!!  Great.

But the Neupogen is for for low white cell count, not red (hemoglobin) ones.

You won't feel anemic if you skip it, but low white cells can allow infections to start, or worsen.  I believe Neupogen is pretty fast acting, like a couple days or so.

Procrit and Aranesp are for low red cells.  And since that takes a couple of weeks to take effect, your  Doc might let you stop taking that, since you'll be done by then :))

Try to tough it out and take your shots, or at least call your doc.

Kelly, you're almost there....

Brad

I'm getting towards the end of treatment (3 weeks,2 shots) . I've been very compliant, only forgot maybe 2 RIBA doses total. All shots, neupergin , procrit etc. went for all blood tests. But for some reason I am not wanting to take the neupergin 2 x a week. I've been taking that shot twice a week for months and last week I genuinely forgot the mid week shot and didn't make it up when I remembered and felt pretty good for the rest of the week, so did the weekend shot and here I am now wanting to skip the mid week again. I've really gotten weird about the shots takes me a while to pop them in, I hover over my skin and finally decide I dont have a choice and do it. ANYWAY my non compliance extends to my procrit shot. My hct and hgb were normal so I skipped it (but the gi nurses did not call and tell me to skip ) then the following week there was no CBC draw so skipped it again. anyway I'm feeling like because I am close to the end I'm getting Rebellious or deciding nothing can go that bad in just three weeks. Am I whacked? Are the drugs making me think this is ok. Or is it probably ok? I don't feeeeeeel anemic. And I reeeeally hate the shots. But I will say ..... Seriously what can happen in three weeks!
