So sorry you are enduring this B-****.

 Ok ...here I go again with the homeopathics,  Renee, go to the health food store and get Rhus Toxicodendron and Hypericum Perforatum by Boiron (or some other homeopathic co.) They should be ok to take with ANY meds, HURRY, you want this gone yesterday! Blessings, Iris

Shingles are the WORST!! I really feel for you. I went through that about 2 1/2 years ago. It was the weirdest, most unreal sensation and hurt like hell. I really feel for you. Manage the pain and it'll go away with some time.  Really crappy timing though, hmm? As if you're not already dealin' with enough.

Oh no, Renee, really sorry you`ve got shingles now on top of everything else, I really feel for you having such a tough time.  hmm

As you say, having a low immune system while on tx can give rise to all sorts of infections...glad you`ve got meds to take for it and hope you get some relief very soon.

You must be so thankful to have Lindsay there by your side, stay strong, you`ll get through this together!

Take care, and let us know how it goes, Jill xx

Take care

At least you know what it is now and hopefully I can get my 4:30 AM time slot re-devoted to sleep ;) You know I'm here for you, even at 4:30 in the morning. I hope the meds work to clear the shingles soon and with little side effects!

evileye
So admist treatment and all the lovely side effects it entails (ie: Immune system suppressed/wbc's loooow etc) I noticed my arm hurt and kinda burned from my elbow up under the arm to my wrist. About a day or two later I had red bumps show up along the path of pain, a day or so after that; it spread and the original bumps seemed to blister; and my arm pain got worse. I went to the doc today to have it checked out and their response;

"You have Shingles" (facepalm~oi wth batman??) I had a bad case of chicken pox when I was 12....and come to find out that it is ONLY contagious to those who have never had Chickenpox; I can't give someone Shingles but can give someone Chickenpox; up to two weeks before I even show symptoms of Shingles (again, wth?). And come to find out one of Lindsays brother's friends that helped us move has never had it >,<
 Not too happy....furious.... and my arm
