Hi Caroline, I was told to take the Riba in 2 equal doses morning and evening, at the same times each day. Although Riba has a long halflife, it makes sense to me to take it 12 hours apart for optimal blood levels. I take my morning Riba with the Vict. at 0700, next Vict. at 1430, Riba at 1900, and Vict at 2330. Vict. is meant to be 7-9 hours apart. Cheers. Spring is almost here in Brisbane.

The schedule on the ribavirin is not so strict, because it lasts so much longer in the body. The Victrelis or Incivek has a very short half life, so you have to take it right on time. The ribavirin lasts a couple of weeks, so small variations in times are allowed.

I was just reading something about the times of taking the dosages or Rib.

I know the Victrelis has a strict regime.  My husband's doctor has said he can take it at: 7.30am, 2.30pm and 9.30pm.

My question is about the Ribavirin - when he did the 4 week lead in, his doctor just said 3 tabs in the morning and 4 tabs in the evening.  Is it still ok to continue this with no 'exact' time on them?  I just read something which seemed to indicate that the ribavirin needs to be taken on strict timetable also.

What are others doing?
