Greg!  sooooo good to hear from you!!!, have missed you greatly around here. I am so bummed to hear about your thyroid, that wasn't really what you needed to deal with as well. I am sending you light and love, I wish you the best in finding some kind of resolve. I know you will stand strong, and you know... as Jim said...you have been a great inspiration, as well as being so supportive to so many.

Hey, the symptoms you mentioned...I thought that was just everyday living...evileye

Bye for now my special space buddy...smile Blessings of love, Iris

Hi Greg.  Lovely to hear from you but sorry it is under these circumstances.  I do hope that they can sort it out and that your health then improves.

I have been a.w.o.l lately biggrin due to moving into a lovely new house with a new partner too, so life is good.

Wish you all the best with this and keep us posted how things go.  Send my love to Cate.

Hugs

Heather xxx

Hi Greg,

Good to hear from you, though not good to hear about your Thyroid problems aww

It was one of the possible lingering sx that were explained to me before tx. On a positive note, I know 2 people who had their thyroid removed years ago (not tx related) and they're just fine as long as they take 1 small tablet daily. Hope it gets sorted soon!

Hi to Cate, too smile

Steff xx

Hey Greg!

Great to hear from you tonight my friend.  I wish it was better news but hey, we're tough sob's, we can take on anything.

Sorry to hear about your Graves disease.  My wife has it but not from tx. Her's goes the other way, she has gained weight the last 2 years. She is being treated but they say there's not much they can do for her. They monitor it every 2 months.?

I can identify with the feeling odd but not overly odd.( sometimes..lol )  I wonder if a mild AD would help. I'm sure you have discussed this with your Dr. Good luck with those sx, it does sound way to familiar.

I hope everything else is going well for you and your family Greg.  As you can see in my journal, I mentioned you being one of my inspirations to try tx. I'll never forget that. Thanks so much.

With your positive attitude I know you will come though this ok. Hang in there and don't stay away so long...lol.  I miss your input.

God Bless you brother.

Hi Margo, Shep and Mallani,

Thanks for the replies, sorry to hear that you all have had problems, I guess it's a risk we all take to cure this beast. You all have my very best wishes. Mallani yes I've heard about 7977 and have been following Jime's journal, will be looking into that thanks for the heads up. Nice fish by the way. Margo great to hear from you again hope you are doing great. Shep some great points you made and spot on. Bless you.

(I do urge everyone to stay aware of thyroid and recognize symptoms which can be difficult to realize while undergoing tx--hair loss, weight loss or gain, constipation, joint pain, fatigue, depression, anxiety, --sounds familiar.)

Again thanks for the replies back in the ring again, different opponent.

Cheers,

Greg

Hi Greg!
I am currently almost 8 weeks post-tx and am experiencing thyroid problems. But of course--I have had hypothyroidism for about 17 years-it was well under control when I started tx. However--about 8-9 weeks in starting having real problems. My TSH went sky high and I felt really, really bad except I didn't realize it because the brain fog was so thick. It was lala land for me--fortunately the doc was on top of it and kept adjusting the meds. And I went to see my endocrinologist and he added Cytomel to my Synthroid. Numbers came back to normal--eventually. Then just 2 weeks post--starting having issues--had no idea what was going on. My thyroid went hyper--I stopped the Cytomel. And after another visit to the endo--had meds adjusted. He did say it will probably take another 6 months to get straightened out.

So to make a short story long--I am experiencing thyroid issues. I hope that it will eventually resolve itself. From past experience with thyroid disease it has been relatively easy to deal with --one pill a day taken correctly with no sx. But I am ready to be done with this problem. I do urge everyone to stay aware of thyroid and recognize symptoms which can be difficult to realize while undergoing tx--hair loss, weight loss or gain, constipation, joint pain, fatigue, depression, anxiety, --sounds familiar.

Hope you dispose of the Graves!

Shep

Hi Greg, Good to hear from you, and sorry about the thyroid problems. The extrahepatic problems from Rx are a big concern. I urge everyone to ask their doc for a T.S.H. test during Rx. If this is normal, there are unlikely to be any thyroid issues. Greg, have you enquired about the GS7977 trials here in Australia? At your age you should be accepted, but it would be a difficult decision. Cheers- rapidly become euthyroid!

Hi Everyone,

Thought I'd pop my head in and say G'Day. It's been over a year now after my treatment and during the last 6 months or so I've been feeling a bit odd, (I'm normally quite odd anyway). I have been loosing weight, hot flushes hyperactive, really stressed out, hands shaking to name a few. Anyway over the last two months and numerious trips to the Doc say I'm having this problem and that problem, finally did some tests and found that I have thyroid problems Graves Disease. I have read that this can happen after Hep C treatment anyone else having any issues. So I'm on Neo Mercazole for this and hope to get better in say 18 months.

Footnote asked me to consider going on treatment again........ummmmaybe not!

Before treatment or during treatment might be a good idea to get this checked with a simple blood test;

Love you all, hope everyone is well and slaying the dragon.

Cheers Greg
