@ Kiwi I have resisted so far. The first thing was cutting my nails off to the quick.

I learned another lesson also.... Not to use speed stick I now have a nice red rash in my armpits.

it will settle as your body gets used to the treatment. my first couple of months, yup, my tattoos in particular were itchy. clinic even noticed it was mostly on the tattoos... i still itch, but not as much. or ive gotten used to it.

but yeh, i think its our systems in overdrive, and the ink is foreign. thats my take on it anyways.

good luck. dont scratch. :)

Cashing out?  hummm, ...whatcha mean?

The ink we used was India ink (Higgins brand I think) It doesn't happen all the time, and I don't know what makes it flair up, I used to lay in the sun a lot, don't recall that making it worse.

Hope you can find some kind of relief, it seems as though many folks complain about itching....all over. Maybe cortisone cream or lanacane? Good luck dear.  BB, Iris

Hi Bear...I'm not on treatment, but I have had my tattoos itch me real bad just out of the blue. The will bug me for a few days, then....it just goes away for awhile. I sometimes wonder why this is, and thought that maybe...since my tattoos were likely the source of my exposure to the C virus, this was why they bothered me.

We did 'em ourselves,... ya know, (scratch pad variety and shared instrumentsfurious We thought we cleaned themnoand now that I think about it... could have been the the ink, cuz we dumped unused ink back in the bottle? Or the thread wrapped around the needle...disbelief). One on the web of my hand gets real bad sometimes and I feel this particular art piece was the one that made me ill. Ironic...it says "Love" ...I sure don't love what happened. When they itch the line of the picture gets raised up...its kinda weird. Bye for now...Blessings from Iris

Ratio bear, the itching can be maddening at least at times for me!
Do a search on itching? I passed on tattoo's but my skin went nuts!
I even took oatmeal bath treatments tried apple cider vinegar bath. I feel for you.
Take Benadryl use cortisone creams call your doctor for ideas.
I am 95 percent rash free after a week post Invicek.
It's maddening at times! Drink liquids water and Gatorade.
Try to find something to take ur mind off of it.
Basically u got to cope w it and it can be harsh at times but passes
I coated myself in lotion but.... I itched.
I couldn't have a conversation w anyone without itching.
Hang in there you are getting a chance to be healed:)

I made a new post on what activities people use to take their minds off of "things" and I have always used playing my guitar with great success. I know a little about stopping the itch, I guess I am more curious as to what itches most and when it started and subsided. I have a good positive attitude so far and I am thankful I am getting the Tx I need. Thanks for your input JoAnneh.

Sounds to me that the outlining ink on that tattoo is photoreactive i.e. reacts to light. None of the tattoos I have are photoreactive. But, since I started this Tx my tattoos itch like crazy. I am feeling a little outclassed by this virus. I do believeI made the correcrt choice.

After three days of Tx I have begun to itch. I was aware this would happen and have trimmed my nails. It seems that the areas that itch most are my tattoos. Has this happened to anyone else? When getting tattoos they itch real bad during the healing process. Is it possible that being the immune system is in overdrive it may be attacking the ink as a foriegn body?..........B
