Hi Vern, I've been told that Incivek is so toxic that only 12 weeks can be given, compared with the much longer protocol with Victrelis. Perhaps our bodies adapt to the new 'normal', and the Sx become less pronounced. The short Rx duration is also meant to limit the development of drug-resistant viral mutations. The Inter. and Riba. are meant to 'mop-up' these mutations, which is why the AP's cannot be used alone. The 12 weeks was chosen as a result of the trials, as this period was tolerable, and gave the best SVR's.

I've heard that there is something about building up immunity to it? The reason I ask, is that as I get near the end of my 12 weeks- I seem to be having fewer sides? Or is 12 weeks just what they found to be optimal in the testing? Why not 10 weeks or 14?

I think you might be right with the immunity. My body seems to be getting used to it after 6 weeks.
