Hi Kandace, that`s great, sounds like you had a well needed break!  smile I`m glad to hear that things are improving for you all, and it`s good news that Ben`s bloodwork is on track.  Unfortunately, tiredness is a pretty normal sx but at least he`s getting fewer rage outbursts now, which must be a lot better for the whole family.

It`s hard being a mom sometimes, it can feel as though we`ve got to be strong for the whole family.   I think you should do whatever you need to do to get through this and having some time to yourself is so important.  Make sure your bath time is also a chance for some "me" time...pamper yourself with your favourite bubble bath or bath oil, and maybe some scented candles...spoil yourself a bit! 

The end will soon be in sight anyway, and how lovely that you`re planning a camping trip to the beach, wow, your girls will be thrilled!

And no need to say sorry, just drop in whenever you like...we`ll be here!

Been away from the forum.  Sorry.  I was on the coast for one of my brothers' wedding this past weekend.  It was nice getting a break and spending time with my family.

Ben went and got his bloodwork done yesterday, all is good.  He is doing better than most people, so we are thanking our lucky stars for that.  He is still so tired all the time.  His rage seems to be pretty well in check....there are a few slips but nothing I can't handle, and it's to me, not the kids now... Thank God.  But, all in all, it is going well.

I don't do well with anger either, Lindsay.  I cry.  And that just seems to aggravate the problem,,,,but that's always been the case.  My therapy is when no one else is home, taking a bath and crying my eyes out since no one is here to see.  I know it's not a healthy reaction, but it helps me,  My kids worry if they see me crying so I try not to do it in front of them.  And Ben just gets mad....so I avoid it when I can.

January 28th should be his last day.  And we have already planned a spring break camping trip in south TX.  This will be the first time the girls will see the beach... we are excited!

I'm glad Ben only has to do 28 weeks! That must be a relief. I'm glad you feel you can come here for support. :) Renee has had some temper outbursts over seemingly small things. I do not do well with anger at all, and so it has been hard. I've cried, I've been anxious. I do keep reminding myself though that a lot of it is due to meds and how her body is feeling. I've stepped up taking care of myself in order to help be there more for her. Hang in there and know we're here for you!

Hi Kandice, please don`t feel you need to apologise, this is the very best place to let it all out and share what you`re going through with people who understand... it`s what we`re here for, so ramble on! smile

Very good news that Ben only has to do 28 weeks, what a relief that must be to you both!   Going through tx can be just as demanding on partners and their families as on the person taking the meds, as you `re on the receiving end of the "riba rage", and have the stress of having to stand by and watch while your other half is suffering nasty side effects.  Make sure you look after yourself as well as holding the family together.

Sounds like it was a good decision to explain about Ben`s tx to your younger children at this point, that will make it a lot easier for them to understand the changes they are seeing in their dad, and the increase in his prozac should make a difference anyway.   I well remember how bad tempered I was on tx... furious ...just as well I was living on my own!

Hi Kandace, Is Ben anaemic? Victrelis seems to produce worse anaemia than Incivek, and in my case, the fatigue is directly related to the haemoglobin level. The mood swings and rage are part of the process and must be very hard on partners. Remember it's only temporary. Happy to hear he only has to do 28 weeks. Good luck and stay positive.

Ben went to his gastro yesterday, he so so tired of getting poked all the time.  But, good news!  He only has to do the 28 week treatment, so we are almost halfway done!  It seems the meds are getting to him more now.  He is so tired all the time, and coughing a lot.... but, it could be worse.  He is off this weekend, so he can rest.  He is in the den now trying to take a nap before the kids get home from school.  He went to our general dr today to get his prozac increased.... I called the dr Monday to make the appt.  Ya'll know how these meds are on patients.  He lost his temper out of nowhere Saturday and left for work, leaving me and the girls all in tears.  Our 16 year old knew about the HCV and the meds, but the 7 and 10 year olds didn't. We explained it to them last night, told them how he got it (homemade tattoo 20 years ago), explained the meds, they even saw him do his shot last night (he had been hiding it from them), explained that he was the only one allowed to touch his meds.  They took it surprisingly well.  They had known he was taking meds (can't ignore a big box coming once a month), but they didn't know why.

The ups and downs have been hard.  He told me this morning that his poops are bi-polar, I jokingly responded that it was becase he is.... he didn't argue it.

I was sick this week, not sure if it was from stress, a bug going around, or from the cat scratching me (I am allergic).  He feels feverish to me, but the thermometer read 97.6...which is low.  He says it's from the meds.  I hope I didn't make him sicker.

That was alot of rambling, I'm sorry.... I usually call my mom about all this, but I think she is getting tired of it.
