Renee had reactions on her arms and legs that even caused blistering. She switched to her stomach only and while there is bruising and tenderness, the reaction is far less than when she used other areas. Good luck with treatment!

For me, always the belly. With my old courses, I've now injected 265 doses of interferon ( but only 31 of Peg.). Don't get any bruises.

i used to go round my belly button and make bruisy kindof flowers. someone here named it 'belly art' i did notice it was most pronounced first 12 to 24 weeks. i think by week 24 to 48 it wasnt so bad. not so much bruising and rashes. i think my belly got used to it. only had one bad bruise which i think i went thru a wee blood vessel...

good luck. but dont worry. its normal.

I got so worried about the bruising and once there was even a "bubble" of medicine under the skin. I called the nurse and asked about it. She said "If the medicine goes under the skin, it is a good shot. If it goes up in the air, it is a bad shot".

I stopped worrying.

I stayed with the love handles on the side. Just switched from side to side and a little forward or backward from the last shot.

My own conclusion was to use the belly. Last years treatment I did the thigh 90% cause it irritated at the belt line  Yes got all the colors etc  This year I decided to stay with the belly. It's a bigger dart board  I figured because Incivek needs fat why not put the peg in fat too?  ( It the 1st recommended place in the instructions I had ) I was told  to avoid using the muscle

If your getting bruises and color you'll know where NOT to do it next week

You're right, that's normal. For me they seem to disappear by the end of the third week. They are definitely weird in the way they gradually grow larger and change colours. A friend of mine did treatment years ago and this was his advice.

" If you get a lot of irritation around the injection site try using an ointment with Arnica in it. You can find them in the Homeopathic Stores. The one I use is call Dr. Reckeweg's R-30. It really helped."

Hi All

Been a while since I last posted something here on the forums. I have since started treatment and just took injection number 4 biggrin

I wanted to ask if anyone has tips for injection site bruising? My bruising / rashing has lasted some time. Weeks 1 and 3 made a nice red rash... well not so much a rash as just a general redness to the injection site but week two's site is bruised green and shows no signs of changing.

I am aware that this is normal I just wanted to know if anyone has tips and or tricks to minimise the effects?

Also... BRAIN FOG
