After three months I was tested and the test came back negative.

Hi and welcome, Marevna.   As the others have said, the risk of your becoming infected with Hep C in those circumstances would be very low indeed.  In theory it would be possible if your boyfriend had any open cuts of wounds so that there would be blood to blood contact, but even then the risk of catching it would be very low.

If you are still worried you would be able to ask your healthcare professional for a blood test to find out for sure, but there would be a waiting period of between a week to several months before your body produced enough virus antibodies to be detected.

I'm sure I had Hep C before I  met my wife ( based on time I may have had it liver damage and high risk time in my life )  neither my wife  or son have it

I had unprotected sex for years after that and  before I knew I was infected my son is 25 now

Harvoni started 12-12-14 for 24 wks PrevTX Geno 1 stage 3 cirrhosis - non resp Int/ ribv. Started Trial  in Aug 2011 -July 2012 into Incivek relapsed  Feb 2013 Had 72 weeks on interferon & Riba.

My boyfriend has hep C, he is a former IV drug user. We always used protection when having sex and never shared toothbrushes or rasors. However accidents happen. For the first time in 2 years of relation, the condom broke last night and I was menstruating. He finished inside. I read that the sperm may contain the virus and if the woman is menstruatijg, the virus can reach easier the bloodstream and the woman is more likely to get infected. Is there any other woman that found herself in this situation? Did you get infected like this? Thank you!

Its a widely debated issue. The consensus, perhaps, is that though there is a risk, it is considered to be very low, under 5 pct.

And that may include sexual contacts where both partners have wounds, leading to a direct blood contact.

Your case does not seem to be the one of that category.

I know a few women who have been in this situation, and not once. Nothing ever happened.
