Very interesting.  Hopefully my husband's heartburn will also subside when he begins to suppress the virus.

Here is my story. I have probably had Hep-C in some form for 30 years or more. During the last ten years I began having heartburn, which I handled with antacids, way more often than I should have. What I have noticed, and this is obvious, is that I no longer suffer from heartburn. The obvious assumption is that Hep-C contributes to acid indigestion. I agree.

Hi Carol, gastro-oesophageal reflux is common, particularly under the circumstances you mention. It is not a typical HCV symptom. Try some antacids. If it becomes frequent, your doc might order an upper GI (barium meal) to check for things like hiatus hernia. Cheers.

I met my husband four years ago.  During this time, he will sometimes get "heartburn."  It usually happens after he eats a lot of food or drinks a lot of soda.  He often has to sit up or raise his hands in the air to feel better.  So here is my question.  Do you think that this is a symptom of his HCV, or would he have this same problem even if he did not have the HCV (like acid reflux or something)?
