Hi Caryn,

The HCV is not found in the urine! It is only present in blood, the liver and perhaps some other organs.

Drinking fluid is recommended to combat the effects of Rx. You can certainly drink too much, and you should find a fluid intake that keeps you well hydrated and producing an adequate amount of urine. For me, that is about 2 litres/ day.  Steff has a Sticky about this.  Cheers.

I will be starting tx in a few weeks. My nurse told me to drink a lot of water so I wil flush the virus out. That comment seemed a little strange to me. I know we need to drink water while on tx and otherwise for that matter, but I have never heard it put that way. Has anyone else heard this?
