Caryn,
I, too bought lots and lots of
Products to prepare for side effects.
Did you get: Sensitive baby wipes,
And Prep H? A must have w/Invicek.
Invicek took away my desire for coffee
And I have always enjoyed coffee.
After finishing Invicek my desire returned.
I drink 3 cups in the am.
This tx is very doable, getting started is so
Scary and dreadful. I didn't have side effects
After my 1st injection.
You will get tired a lot and some days energy
Is good too. We are here to help in any way.
I was just like you in May.

Hi Caryn, I never stopped drinking coffee through Tx and there didn't seem to be anything noticeable.

I would get up 4 or 5 times a night to pee but that wasn't because of the coffee as I drank it in the am only.

Most people seem to get up during the night more than they did pre Tx. Coffee is actually good for the livers wellness.

Mark said he drank about 20 cafeinated drinks a day which is a lot. Certainly wouldn't hurt to cut back from that

but I can imagine the withdrawals.....lol.

I'm 33 weeks into it now and i do allow myself very limited quanities of caffine, maybe 2 cups of coffee in the a.m. and 1 soft drink a week. There are some reports that some coffee my help with treatment, but i don't think anything has been proven yet. Treatment can be very scary. The SX's affect everyone differnetly and there are some real horror stories out there. The week b4 treatment, i didn't sleep much, just laid there and worried. But the sides are what they are and i wish i hadn't wasted those nights worring because it wasn't as bad as i'd feared. I'm sure you can make it, it's very do-able. if you do have to cut it short, at least you will know you had the courage to try. And there's alot of people that can't say that. Best of luck to ya.

Full, very full. I've never ate so much fat, unwillingly, in my life.Felt kinda like a goose being fattened up for Christmas dinner. Between drinking a gallon of water and not knowing how to work with the high fat requirements of Incivek. I mostly felt really full. I got a really bad headaches the first couple of days and at the time i blamed the RX's. But looking back it was probably caffeine withdrawal. It was the first day of my adult life to go caffeine free and i drank about 20 caffeinated drinks a day before treatment. I also felt some brainfog but that could have been the caffeine too. Also felt tired but couldn't sleep, but i think for me that's also caused by the Pegasys or Ribaviran because i still experiance that today. I also felt very anxious and feerful. Anxious to get this over with and feerful that Tx wouldn't work. But 4 weeks later i was overjoyed to find out it could work. BUT MOSTLY FULL.

Can anyone give some feedback regarding how you felt on your first day of triple treatment with incivek?

Thanks for the feedback. I drink coffee in the morning and drink tea in the afternoon. I know that caffeine is a diuretic, but I cannot imagine not having my cup of coffee in the morning!!  I drink water, but not nearly as much as I should or will be drinking. Have you had any caffeine while on tx?  I have myself so worked up about this treatment, I hope I live until next week!  I bought an arsenal of supplies for side effects. I know there is no way to avoid them, but just trying to be prepared and manage them. I am just really freaking out.
