Hello all, I was born with Hep C (thanks mom) and last year I went through the interferon/victrelis/riba treatment. After 4 weeks my viral load was undetectable, and stayed that way until a couple months after treatment. But then it came back in full force and in January my viral load was back up to 860,000 iu/mL. So I was obviously ****ing furious and depressed - especially cause I'm still looking at a $20,000 bill for something that didn't work and made me sick for 24 weeks. (If only I could get a refund for it not working).

Anyways, when I found that out I started doing research on vitamins proven to improve liver function and inhibit hcv viral replication. I also have been getting weekly acupuncture, I've never tried it before and if nothing else, it has improved my mood and allergies. But as for vitamins - I've been taking R-lipoic acid, L-carnitine, a sublingual B-12, Vitamin D, Cod liver oil, Milk Thistle, TMG and Vitamin C. I took all of these for the past two months and my viral load is down to 400,000. I just recently (this week) added an antioxident complex, citrus bioflavanoid complex, tumeric, and Quercetin. I'm going to wait another two months and see where that goes. My ALT/AST levels are still elevated, but I'm hoping that they will go down. I'll post again when I get the results back from my next test. Here is some of the papers I've used in deciding what vitamins/herbs to take.

***Link Deleted*** (curcumin, which is one of the main polyphenolics in tumeric)

***Link Deleted*** (green tea extract inhibits replication of hcv)

***Link Deleted*** (quercetin and bioflavanoids)

***Link Deleted*** (vit d improving treatment response)
