On Harvoni for 8 weeks and have had ringing since week 2. Started 12/6/14. It is pretty loud and I am going to a ENT on Wednesday. Anybody else on Harvoni have this?

About 3 weeks into my first tx my left ear became completely blocked, I told the nurses who said it wasn't tx related so i was referred to ENT, anyway cutting a long story short, I was seen by the ENT doc after my treatment was stopped by which time the hearing problem was resolved. 

Well this time round again about 2 1/2 weeks in my ear became blocked again, this has again resolved since stopping tx.  When I spoke to the nurse again she seemed to think it was unrelated to tx. Utter nonsense as I've never had any issues with my hearing/ears.  I found the blocked ear a huge problem as everything including my own voice was muffled.

Treatment failed 2009 after 19 weeks. Treatment stopped after 4 weeks in Feb 2013 as viral load did not drop. The search continues....... again.......

i am really angry at "official sx statistics" that interferon causes hearing problems in 1% of cases, while at same time it's well known for it's ototoxic properties...if you look online, there are ton of publications of ototoxic properties of interferon (strangely it's only have been researched in last 2-3 years)

i have tinnitus (really mild one 12KHz both ears, barely noticable) for last 4 years, after first shot of interferon it got louder up to 150%, but beside that i got a new one on left ear (8KHz)...my hepa can't do anything and i can't find a good ETN doc nor audiologists here ;/ i am having sleep disorders cause of it, not to mention if i will ever get depressed during tx, it will be cause of tinnitus...

since my ears are essential for my work, hearing impairment is my biggest worry ;/ i hope it won't be a perm damage and that my tinnitus level will go to pre tx loudness after i finish with interferon...

i have made some custom wavs to ease it, but it works only for few minutes...you can also find online application Tinnitus tamer (win/mac/iOS) which can do same...

white noise and natural white noisih stuff, doesn't helps me much in masking...

Harvoni started 12-12-14 for 24 wks PrevTX Geno 1 stage 3 cirrhosis - non resp Int/ ribv. Started Trial  in Aug 2011 -July 2012 into Incivek relapsed  Feb 2013 Had 72 weeks on interferon & Riba.

gatekeep,it sounds like a constant bip in my ears,it comes and goes but its very loud somethimes,im not worrying yet because it fades away but its happening often than usual,i was wondering if i was the only one...
