My husband struggled with dry skin and especially with a dry nose.

We bought the best humidifier we could find and run it almost 24/7 in our bedroom.

The humidifier made a huge difference.

Thanks all warmest replies. very helpful.
Thanks Mallani, I already bought Nivea lotion for dry skin. It does work well for me.  Right, keep using a cheap moituriser.

Hi Lucy,

Take it easy on the showers. I had a brief shower with cool water every 2 days and only used a little baby shampoo- no soap. That may not suit everyone. As the drugs decrease the sweat production, keep using a cheap moisturiser as often as possible.

My pharmasist said to take it easy on the hot showers with dedorant soap. That they would dry your skin. They said most people use a moisturizing lotion after shower or bath. She said Aveeno was one popular brand. It has Dimethicone and colloidal oatmeal. I use a generic version the local Gro store makes with same stuff.

Mainly said just don't use one with any kind of alcohol in it.

Add a few drops of coconut oil in your bath water. After bathing daily with this water, see the change in a few days. Coconut oil penetrates deep into the skin and nourishes the dry skin. It's a wonderful cure for dry skin. Try it out! You can even use any commercial brand that uses coconut oil or milk extracts.

My doctor told me to use nothing but Eucerin in the tub mixed with a tube of cordisone 1%.  It's kind of gross but very good.

Try to keep it simple and cheap. In Australia we have Nivea lotion, which is easily absorbed and you can pile it on without breaking the bank. I would avoid oils. Cheers.

i am using  excipial u lipolotion. It helped me before with dry skin/eczema (could be from hcv) and it helps now with Riba rash.

http://www.excipial.ca/blog/2012/04/10/excipial-u-lipolotion/

i tried Aloe Vera 99% pure lotion, but it's not that great compared to excipial

Hi Lucy,

Egyptian Magic works pretty good...If you decide to give it a try, best way to use it..put it into your hand, warm it up and slather it on.  Little oily at first but if you are that dry your skin will drink it right up...

These two weeks, My skin is getting to be more dry. I already use a lot of body lotion, body cream, but not useful.

Can anyone recommend any way to me? I already tried to change a different brand product, but still not useful.

Thanks a lot
