Hi Bob,

Interferon is the pits, but it's not really responsible for fatigue. The anaemia is mostly caused by Riba.  Peg does cause some fever, rigors and aches and pains in some people.  I think a lot of us expect the worse from the Peg injection, and naturally feel worse. I personally never had any problems from the Peg. I had good days and bad days initially, then from 36 weeks on, they were all bad days. We're all different.

Sunday my shot day is my best day. 48 weeks of this. Cant make plans for Mon, Tues or Wed cause i was always yucky feeling. But you do learn to live with it (somewhat).

Hello I recently started the Victrelis on 6/20 and am experiencing the exact same thing as you. My injection day is Thursday and I find myself spending the next two to three days on a fatigue roller coaster. Friday I start to experience the fatigue early and it increases through the day. If I'm going to experience nausea and vomiting, it will be on Friday or Saturday thus far. But like you I feel most tired on Friday thru Sunday. Then it improves but strength is still limited during the week. As far as I can tell from the other members here and my doc, we'll experience far fewer problems with rashes on the Victrelis than will the Incivek group. As far as other side effects from the triple combo or the Victrelis, the jury is still out because I haven't been in therapy for that long. I'm going to remain as positive as I can and will be relying on the experiences of the good people here! I hope my situation has helped you understand yours. Good luck!!     Brady

I started triple therapy with telaprevir.  Unfortunately, in spite of a great response, rash and fatigue were overwhelming and I had to stop.  3+ weeks ago, I began standard pegasys + ribavirin as a lead in for boceprevir which I begin on Friday.  Pegasys is a sustained release drug so I would assume that fatigue would be constant.  But, what I have seen is that Saturdays after a Friday injection is tough and improved by Sunday.  Since it doesn't make sense to me, is anyone else experiencing this?

Thanks!

I just finished a 48 week with 44 weeks Victrelis. My Sx were the same from the interferon. Friday night

I would ache in arms or legs/knees. Would sometimes get really cold and start shivering and skin would be warmer than normal.

Tylenol (aceteminophen) helped to some degree.

Saturday the chills were gone but fatigue would set in and sometimes I spent the whole day in bed.

Appetite would be down too and food just wasn't appealing.

Sunday not quite as bad as Saturday and by Monday I would be 85 -90% back to normal or as close to

normal as it gets with Tx.

I did notice that the last 6 weeks were hell after 3 or 4 months of reduced Sx and although I felt nauseated a few

times during Tx I never actually got sick. Interferon sucks but it does it's job. Just remember....

you're not alone and many have gone before you. It is doable with some intestinal fortitude, just ask some of the

members who had a really rough time such as Joanne and MJ.
