Hi Carol, my hepa told me straight after last peg shot to do PCR and full blood check bit later, then 3 or 6 months EOT another PCR (not sure how many insurance will cover me, but i will do on my own 3/6/12months EOT), after that liver enzymes to keep eye on every 6 o 12months. Haven't asked about blood counts how often first few weeks EOT to do it. I will do em on my own too, if insurance will be picky about it (my plan every 2-4 weeks until SVR12 then only liver enzymes if everything is ok)

PS: as i have mentioned before, your hubby is really lucky with genotype "choice"...his chance for SVR is more than superb, so don't worry (*genotype envy grin*)

Hi Carol,

The usual protocol is to get a VL at 12 and 24 weeks. The FBC and E/LFT's are usually done at 4, 8 and 12 weeks. This is to check the blood counts and liver enzymes and to see if any other problems have arisen. Cheers.

Geno 1b, IL28B CT,  x3 prior relapser,  ex-cirrhotic, 75 yo, did 48 weeks with Victrelis/Peg./Riba.  VL 1.28m at start, UNDET. at 8 ,12 ,16 ,24 ,30  and 48 weeks.  EOT 15 Feb 2013 , UNDET. at EOT + 28 weeks. SVR!  Still Undet. at EOT +5 years

I know that someone needs to get viral load tests done after treatment to test for SVR, but did anyone else have to continue doing other blood work after treatment, such as

CBC's or CMP's?

Husband has HCV.  Viral load @ start of treatment was 1,600,000.  Genotype 2.

Treatment includes Ribavirin pills and Peginterferon injections for 24 weeks.

UND at 4 weeks, 12 weeks and EOT plus 1.5 weeks and 3 months.
