Toni, I keep a glass of saline (salt water) in the fridge and swish with it several times a day. It really helps me with the mouth sores. Have you asked your doctor for some Magic Mouthwash? There are a few different ingredients, mine has lidocaine, Benadryl and nystatin. It helps to treat thrush if you get it and its common with triple therapy. It will numb the sore spots like no other! I also got some of the OTC sore throat spray. All of it helps when my mouth gets like yours is right now. It does come and go, so you shouldn't have this all the time.  I just took my 12th dart yesterday. Next week I get to hopefully find out If I'm UND at Week 12!!  We're close together in treatment, so I'm here if you have any questions. Stay in touch! smile

I have had about 5 cbc's so far....and although my wbc and rbc and platelets have dropped, they are still ok and doc said I'm not in danger. I do feel tired and if I eat something I know I should not then I get nauseous and trust me this is no piece of cake, I am going in for shot 6 with a riba and vic ****tail in a few minutes......its funny its only been 6 weeks and I just can't remember not feeling so lousy.  

I have to admit its the not knowing that is the hardest?  Will I get anemic???  Will my hair fall out??? Will my teeth fall out??? and the big one WILL THIS THERAPY WORK??

tonib,

     you're starting week 5 correct? that's when my headaches and fatigue started as well. what was your hemo prior to treatment?

please treat yourself well for a couple of days and let your kids assist. i highly suggest getting a cbc quickly and buy vitamin b-12. then keep hounding drs. office 4 results. don't forget we're in nj..... also i find leaving a voice mail w/staff and a fax w/same request to receive prompt attention! be well.

7 days with the vic and still feeling the same as before...headachey, occasional fevers, tired, just had a couple of new things.... nasty smelly gas, .cuts on the sides of my mouth so doc told me to take B100 complex....phew this stuff smells and it also makes your urine yellow and smell like the vitamin.

Good luck on the Victrelis. They are powerful pills and hopefully they work on us who are or were on them.

58 yo..Relapsed in 99 and again in 2004. Started triple therapy with Victrelis July 22,2012.  genotype 1a. week 8,12,16,24 VL Undetectable..E.O.T -- 6-22-2013,,,EOT + 24., UND. 

SVR !!!

I'm hoping you do well on the Vic pills. 

Eat lots of yogourt, the fatty stuff will help digest the pills.

Hi Tonib, I just started the 7th week of Victrelis and Dart 11. I can tell you the hardest part of this addition has been the fatigue associated I believe with the anemia it causes. I have no strength and even holding my arms up has been difficult. I take my first dose of the day at 8AM. It used to be easy to get up, eat and take it. Not now! I have set additional alarms to remind me to get out of bed. Stay well rested and make sure you eat at least a snack with each dose, very important! Good luck and keep your eye on the prize!

Good luck and keep us posted on how you are doing :). I like how Mallani thinks. . With every dose you are beating the virus further down. I think I will say that to myself frequently when I start tx.

You'll learn to love them. Every 8 hours, another dose and the VL drops even further. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!
