I was Just mentioning to Matt that I thought we were about the same age and low and behold so are you. So lets all make a pact that we clear this dam thing over the next while. So maybe some of us can get together and enjoy it. I saw that Matt was in Texas and I am in Canada but I can tell you that if we can clear this I have a GPS and a reasonable idea how to find Texas so who knows? Wouldn't that be a nice thing to do over a nice fat Steak ? LOL

Thanks a lot Matt !

I was warned about the sunlight from the beginning but it wasn't really hot then and although it tired me out it was no where near as bad when it got Baking outside and I played a couple of parks and golf courses with no trees. Last weekend I played a golf course with a lot of trees and just headed the cart under them when I wasn't hitting and it made a big difference. I am taking a half a pill of Ativan when I feel the anxiety coming on and that has helped and the sleeping pills I just got are Mint-Zopiclone 7.5 mg And they told me to try and take these for three days to get my sleeping rhythm back on course so I did two days and last night did not need them. I only use both if I feel I have to and resist until I am sure I am not going to sleep normally. My meds were 7AM and PM but he told me that it would be better to take the night ones 5-6 because I would sleep easier. And other then the Meds I have a multi vitamin and a vitamin C in the morning and I mix 200ml of water with my Phytoberry that if an all natural food supplement / antioxidant. So food first then wait half an hour and then a jog and the same at night. I have 8 weeks left and then the wait. I have been following your posts because I think we are both about the same age and weight and I am really hoping this year the FDA starts to pass some of the new drugs that have been so promising. See I was reading some of Mallani's posts on liver testing and I had the Fibro scan so maybe the reading are different but I doubt by much.   You Hang in there to because I want to be reading that all of us are cleared of this nasty virus in the very near future !! Take Care !!

Hello Terry

Your test results look really good, your platelets at 149 are very good for a cirrhotic patient, my own has not been that high in 5 years and I have less cirrhotic issues then you. The stress and sleeping issues will likely subside after the treatment.

Terry their are known issues with sunlight and Ribavirin so you will have to be more discreet in your exposure to direct sunlight. If your body needs a rest give it one.

i would also suggest reading all the articles you can on the HCV New Drug Research blog it has hundreds of heady topics on HCV.

Hang in there and keep 100% compliance in your Meds it could make the difference.

Matt

Hi ios9

I kind of asked about that and although they are vague with their answers he did say that about that point we would have the maximum saturation of the drugs but I believe it is more the maximum saturation of the Ribavirin that is causing this. My own doctor prescribed the Ativan for me because he told me that it was processed by the kidneys instead on my liver but at about week 8-10 even a whole pill was not helping me get many more than 3-4 hours at a time and once I am awake I just can't go back so it made for a tired day. A thing I did notice was because I am playing baseball and golfing the sun (heat) seemed to drain me of a lot of strength and focus and my mind would float a lot during those times. If I stayed in the shade in between plays I was much better overall so the sun does bake you out. And thanks for the support as we all need it from time to time ..Take Care !!

Thanks Mallani       I like my peanut butter sandwiches and in a pinch I use them just before I take my medication. I just looked at My E Health a service we have where they keep your records online so you can refer to them and when I started to go downhill fast was 10-16-2012 and at that time my ALT was 247 my AST was 137 and my GGT was 217 I did post a response that I got from my clinical trial guys after I read about Matt's relapse because I still am really worried about the possibility of it returning after treatment is over. I am at week 16 so two more months to go and I had tried to get a hard copy of my results in the past and they always seemed to be missing part of the test results so that just made me more nervous. But this time they gave me a complete copy of all the results but to be honest I don't really know what they all mean I just look to see if they are within the high/low range they print on the sheets. I did notice that the Platelet count range was 150-400 but now is 140-400 so that allowed me to sneak in at 149. Now I was reading a conversation of yours about the liver testing methods and what I remember was asking if I could have the Fibro scan vs the Biopsy and distinctly remember the head herpetologist walking into the room and his first words were "OH MY" and then he told me a couldn't wait and told me up front that the Teleprevir  was the drug for me until I mentioned to him that I was aware that Abbvie was running a trial there and then he put me on to any guy there to get enrolled. To me that was a red flag that they were under pressure to push certain drugs for the treatments and he never mentioned the new drugs at all. He almost seemed disappointed that I was asking to try the New Drugs ? You guys all know so much more then I do so that's why I posted the results. I have been having a bit of a battle with the anxiety so continue to take a half a pill of Ativan when I feel it coming on because it does get pretty intense and causes me to have moods swings and doubts about the whole process. I do know that although there is an Abbvie Canada my results seem to all come from North Chicago. So I will continue to post the rest of my results in hoping that in some way others can gain some sort of gauge as to where they may be in their own treatment. I don't know if that helps but I read so many posts of all the great help you guys are offering and really wish that I could offer more assistance to the cause but I just don't feel that I have the expertise that the rest of you do so I won't offer advise. I am ever hopeful that all of you can beat this thing and if there is anything I can do to help please let me know. I want you to know that you have all been a huge part of the reason I have made it to this point and I thank you all for your support. I just talked to a friend that was offered treatment in another province and I told him to enroll himself on to this board before he made any decisions. I do know that when my moods got dark I could always come on this board and read things from yourself and Cinnamon girl and Matt that would make me feel so much better. Keep up the good work we all need you and appreciate your help !

Hi Terry,

I wonder if to be in the middle of the treatment could stress us ? because I have been really calm during my AbbVie Trial till week 6 (half of my 12 weeks arm) and then, became very anxious and without sleep too (about 4h/night). Could it be just psychological ?

About peanut butter, as far as I know, there is fat in it, so I do not take any, but I understand for one who is used to it, it can be hard to stop or slow down.

Like you in Canada, we have an AbbVie France, but it seems the mails we get have three addresses : France, Germany and Chicago. It is written on my AbbVie form that I can see my results on line, however, I have never been able to find it. So, you'r lucky.

About me : it's my hepato who pressed me on AbbVie Trial, but I also know some docs from same hospital still put their patients on Interferon, do not ask me why...

Keep being confident, 24 weeks is the best !

Do

Hi Terry,

Great results!! The ALT and AST are impressive.

I ate a lot of peanut butter while on Rx but I had weird food tastes then. Don't overdo it. With your results so far, I'd be pretty relaxed. For a cirrhotic, your blood profiles are amazing, so take it easy and don't worry. Cheers.

Well I just completed week 16 but these results will be from week 12.

I will just post the highs or lows to make it easy.

Total bili 1.4 should be below 1.2 (H)

Cholest 148 min should be 170 (L)

HGB  11.5 min should be 12.7 (L)

HCT   36min should be 39 (L)

RBC   3.6 min should be 4.5 (L)

WBC   2.63 min should be 3.8 (L)

Neutrophil  1.04 min should be 1.96 (L)

Neutrophil 39.7 min should be 40.5

Lymphocyte 51.1 high should be 48.5

Notables are

ALT 26

AST 27

GGT 29

Platelets   149

HCV RNA Not Detected

Now a couple of questions I would like answered. Is it OK to have a lot of Peanut Butter ? And I do like my chocolate bars and cookies so do they have to go ? I have tried to cut back the sugar in my coffee to make up for it. I recently had a bad week with the anxiety and I took a week off work so I took some Ativan to control it I think the work pressure and a couple of days golfing in the hot sunshine did me in. So today while getting a hard copy of week twelve I explained that I was only sleeping in three hour increments so he gave me some Mint-Zopiclone 7.5 MG  I would give anything to just get eight hour of sleep all at once.
