I would also like to say that after further reading one of the confusing posts was from A Canadian that I would like to apologise for. While this person has not posted in a while I want to commend both Cinnamon Girl and Mallani for keeping their cool with some of the posts I was reading  .  lol  The last time I conversed with a subject like that I did some research and found that the person lived in the USA but was from Europe and was connected to everything from spiritual healing to herbal supplements so it seems we all have them. You all do great work and I thank you. From a Canadian!

I am not sure if this is the place I should put this but because I am in fact on a clinical trial I will start here. While I was looking around a few different sites on the forum I was amazed at the amount of participants making comments on what we should and should not take. I have been reading that coffee was good for cirrhotic livers from a lot of sources but also read on here the it should be avoided at all cost. What I try to do is make available the blood work tests that have been provided to me by my clinic and my own personal habits of jogging, foods and supplements and in turn I ask everyone to pass along anything they have tried so I can see if there is a possible benefit. I also like to know how and when they do their meds so I might be able to modify my habits to make this treatment better for me. But at no time do I get into diagnostic work because I am no expert at any of this. So I am hoping that when I read that you should not drink coffee or take this or that the people have some better knowledge then me or as Mallani said so well have some sort of documented proof that this is fact because for a new person coming on to this forum it sure can get confusing.

Hi Terry, and thanks, we do our best!  I guess what you have to remember is that this is a `discussion` forum rather than a `medical` forum and a lot of what people post is their own personal views and opinions.  We try not to intervene unless we notice something which is quite misleading or factually wrong, otherwise it inhibits discussion between our members.  Some links to articles and studies which people post can also be contradictory or outdated, and we do advise that no-one should use this forum as a replacement for medical advice from their doctor or hepatologist, as mentioned in our forum guidelines...

Hope that helps!  smile
