I beleive any alcool helps, because when having a rash away from home, once I used my perfum bottle and it worked, but took a little longer.

However :vinegar on scratches burns, so better to do not scrach before using vinegar .

greetings,

thanks for all the tips. i can't wait to try the apple cider vinegar. right now i'm on 3 tablets of hydroxyzine 25mg/pill and fluocinonide 0.05%

cream. the1st rash at beginning of treatment i solved w/ zyrtec, benadryl and cortizone 10 cream.

mallani, yes you're right about the acidic saliva & amalyse serum. i know it's not the pancreas for they did an ultra of my kidneys, pancreas and liver while at the hospital.

tonib, sorry your hemo is down to 11 and low platlettes as well. be proactive w/the rash and follow joanneh's advice;DON'T SCRATCH. in nj they don't transfuse unless you're 7.0 or below. ask for procrit but i find it to be as sluggish as a snail.

finally, when i left hospital on 8/1 my hemo jumped from 6 to 8.7 w/ 2 bags of blood. after 2 shots of procrit i went up to 9.5. last week was down to 8.5. i guess i'll be upping my procrit soon or back to the er like last time.

i'm down to my last 2.5 weeks of incevik and just don't want to wind up back in hospital or more dose reductions. right now i'm back to 3 ribas/day instead of 2. at beginning of treatment i took 4/day.

thanks for listening everyone. am still fighting and spending a lot of time reading&staying positive.

Hi Tonib,

About rash : there was a lady Under peg and Riba on a french forum who cried for help one night, saying she just could not hold it any more. People told her about special cream, etc. But it was late at night and she was getting really nervous.

I told her about me having had rash (big enormous one) from 3 months old till around 12 years old. The family doc had told my parents to use apple vinegar on my skin where the rash was, and that has been the only way for me to live a normal child life (I was a premature baby, my lever was not totally finished at birth for what I had understood at the time).

I did told the lady about it, and about 15 mn later she wrote back her rash had gone (she had used in a hurry an ordinary vinegar she had at home) and she was wondering how long it will last.

In the morning she wrote all the rash was gone. I know from her later posts that her rash had been handle that way since.

I am not trying to promote vinegar, just that I know it works and it save money and free from chimical stuff.

Hope this may help smile

Do

When I was on Procrit at first I did them on the same night. The effects from the shot were quite tame as compared doing them alone. When I mentioned this to my case nurse, she didn't want me to do them together. I did them a day a part and each one got me sick. Glad I got off that.

Hi Sandy,

A rash from Procrit is uncommon, as is usually very mild. It may be from the Riba.

I missed your post from August 3rd regarding elevated serum amylase. Elevated serum amylase during HCV Rx is usually from the salivary glands, not the pancreas. Serum lipase should help decide- if normal, the pancreas is OK.  It's not significant and is probably a direct effect on the salivary glands from Interferon. That's why we have dry mouths, with acidic saliva.

There is no reason why you can't have Procrit and Peg on the same night. How's your Hb holding up with the Procrit? Cheers.

I think I'm going to ask my doc about the procrit, my levels are so low and I am feeling so tired and weak.  On the 16 of Aug I had low levels of wbc   2.5, rbc  3.57,   hgb  11l4    hct  33.4 and platelets are 54

Woke up 2 days ago with rash on my legs and today I have it on my belly with a big black and blue mark, doc said I must have bumped my belly against something.

Now today I have the runs and the anal burn.

I just took shot 8 with ribovarin and  3 weeks with the victrellis, just starting 4 weeks of vic now,   Just feels like everyday its something new and its quite a terrible feeling......some mornings I lay in bed because I just don't want to get up and start my day.....the bed just feels so good and safe and secure.

sorry to be so down and depressing, I swear this day started pretty good, and then bam.....

I have only had one shot about 8-10 weeks ago and hemo has been up since.  I had no noticeable side effects.  The rash may be the Incivek.  They frequently come and go.  I have had few rashes since completing Incivek.

am now on my 4th injection of procrit and have afew questions.

how is everyone staggering the 2 shots? i was on a wednesday pegasys shot and saturday procrit. this week i switched the procrit to thursday.

has anyone taken both injections on the same night?

also does anyone have a rash from the procrit? in the past 2 weeks it appeared and seems worse than the rash i had at the beginning of

treatment. also i'm on wk. 10 of incivek. i'm assuming it's just a build up of all the meds. on the lighter side only 2 more weeks of incevik.
