Hi cheeta37,

You say you're from Pakistan, but your IP address is in California, USA. Would you please explain.

I would be very surprised if the HCV antibody test was required for an Omani Visa. Most workers in Oman are from other Middle East countries, India, Pakistan and Indonesia. Many would have anti HCV antibodies.

Dear friends i was patient of HCV in 2009 and undergone interferon injections therapy for 6 months (Pegasys Roch Company) my PCR got negative during treatment and now after 4 years my medical test reports are showing PCR Not Detected.

I have a question, is it possible to have Anti HCV test negative after treatment or it will remain positive all the life with us?

I see what you mean, but I really don`t think there`s any way you can hide the HCV antibodies and prevent them from showing positive in a blood test, sorry.

PS - By the way, I`ve removed the links you posted to this thread in other areas of the forum, as they are not necessary now, thanks.

Hi Ashar, welcome to the forum, and congratulations on your results 4 years after treatment.

Are you asking whether you will still test positive for HCV `antibodies` after treatment?  If so, then the answer is yes.  Once you have been infected with the Hep C virus you will have the antibodies in your blood stream for the rest of your life, even after you have cleared the virus from your system.  They will always show up positive in a HCV antibody test.

Does that answer your question?
