Hi Sandy, I`m glad you`ve switched to another doctor, it`s a brave move but it`ll be worth it I`m sure.  It`s important to have a doctor you can trust and rely on during tx, and one who has the knowledge and experience to make the most effective decisions for you.

From what you`ve told us about your boyfriend, it sounds like you`ll do better without him around.  Another brave move, but there are times when our own health and needs have to take priority.  You`re almost done now with incivek and things should start getting easier for you soon I hope.  You`re a strong woman and you`ll get through this.

Take good care of yourself, we`re all on your side!  smile

Sounds like things are looking up for you! I'm glad you found a doctor that shows genuine interest and the knowledge required to do this right. Once you get this straightened out you're going to excel, in health and happiness! Best of luck smile

Wow, awesome move, Sandy, switching drs mid treatment. I bet that will give others who are dissatisfied with their doctor's performance the green light to change. It is amazing the big differences between docs. I'm glad for youbiggrin

Whoa, that's some low numbers you got there. You must be exhausted. Ironic that it's a good sign the medicine is working. Glad to hear also that you are making lemonade - Take care!

greetings,

thought i'd post my recent progress. old dr. called w/cbs's yesterday. hemo went from 9.5 2nd wk. of august to 7.8 as of 8/30disbelief. his advice, only 200mg of ribo/day&maybe increase procrit dosage . am still 0/und and have only 5 Days of incivek left. alt & ast is getting better& iron % is now only 32% from 88% on day1 of treatment. rash is horrid, only skipped my head and even on the feet & hands.bleh

smile news. went to new dr. today!!!!! will be called w/in 24 to 48 hrs re cbs&vl. he laughed at old drs. recommendations. tomorrow off to lab corp &by monday could be an outpatient on blood transfusion w/scriptsmile absolutely no more ribo reduction 4 me,transfusions and more procrit. new dr.admitted that only about 25% of people finish triple. he also gave  me the name of an associate who's involved w/clinical trials. sadly my old dr didn't inform me of an associate of his conducting clinical trialsdoh people if you're not happy w/ your dr. switch midtreatment. i didn't even need to request copies of my labs. i always print them out on the patient portal re lab corp. from 2nd wk of treatment i've been dealing w/ poor to mediocre care & office staff. finally, 1wk. ago old dr. faxed report of my ab & liver ultra done 25 days ago during hospital stay. it shows/states no fatty infiltration or abnormal echnography!!!!

smile news, left bf due to verbal abuse & disrespect. he chose alcohol over me and i stopped weekend binge drinking 6mos. ago that he encouraged &enabled. now have nurses aides on daily basis. i have never felt more empowered. believe and great things come your way. you must take only the positivity out of negative events.....make some lemonade w/ those lemons.

thanks for being there for me.

sandy,ucbgal
