Hello,

In talking with my doctors, we've agreed to wait on treatment until the non-interferon treatment (psi-7977) becomes available.  People in the beta group last year were suggesting that it might be available by the end of this year or early 2014.  Has anyone heard of a recent update on the tentative release date and expected availability of PSI-7977?

Thanks and have a good weekend.

Lon

Hi Lon, nothing much has changed since you last asked this question in July.   Sofosbuvir (previously PSI -7977) is being fast tracked for approval by the US FDA, and as far as we know it is still expected to be released by the end of this year, although no date has been announced yet.   The FDA public advisory committee is due to meet for a revue of Sofosbuvir of 25th Oct, so maybe we`ll hear some more news following that.  Details of the revue announcement were recently posted by Matt Chris on this thread..

As you have genotype 1 you would still have to take it with Peg and Riba as it stands at the moment, or else wait for new drugs Lepipasvir or Daclatasvir to be released, although that could be another year or two down the line.

Stay in touch, and hopefully we`ll have some more news before too long.  smile
