I finished treatment with incivek almost two years ago.  When I was on it most of my moles grew.  It was the weirdest thing, my nurse practitioner said she had never heard of this symptom before.  Some of them grew so much they had to be frozen off.

As for the itching, Benedryl cream worked very well....that and NOT scratching!  I would have my wife cover my back with cortisone cream once a day and it prevented it from getting too bad.  Oddly, I had the worst rash AFTER treatment ended for about three weeks.

I'm happy to say that I have been virus free since the treatment ended!  You just have to roll with the punches as they pop up.  I felt 90% normal a couple months after treatment ended and after that it was mostly insomnia.  I have had no side effects for a loooong time now.  It's worth it!

Thanks for posting about this!
I am about to start Incivek and have heard about the rashes associated with treatment. Glad to know I can come here when I start to freak out if my skin changes!

I feel for you the rashes create a rough existence.  I have had all of the above during the past 36 weeks.  My doc lowered my Riba and prescribed Atarax at about 14 weeks because the rashes were getting out of control.  It has been better since than, but is just starting to raise it's ugly head again.  Especially the chest and shoulder area.  I find the ointment prescribed by my dermatologist to be very helpful.

When I was on treatment with interferon and ribaviran I started to get spots (especially on my chest) all over my body. At first I thought they were moles but they were always more red than moles. Moles usually don't go away. But these spots would start out red and itch and slowly fade and go away.

I mentioned them to my doc who said sometimes they occur with interferon but usually go away and not to worry.

Eventually all of them faded and went away.

But they were very strange and made me feel strange.

Yep!! I've got them too! They itch and are getting more noticeable as time goes on. Just reminds me of dozens of tiny mosquito bites (bumps) on my arms, elbows and on my scalp. Damn things really cause my scalp to itch! Ain't it fun? NOT!!!

I am also struggling with these tiny itchy bumps for the last few weeks....they kind of remind me of mosquito or spider bites. Its all over my body but I get them real bad on my elbows and knuckles and around my collarbone. Sooo annoying because it keeps me awake at night. Benadryl usually helps me sleep, but tonight its not for some reason. I have been in the sun the last few days and I snuck some sprite and pepsi, so maybe that's why its so bad tonight. I also like using Lubriderm, it seems to lessen the itchiness. Hope that helps!! I guess I find some kind of sick comfort in knowing that I am not alone, so thank you & good luck
